HYTECHTOYZ Helmet Cooling Fan for Welders OR Costumes

I’m a welder for a large company and I’m constantly under my hood for 12 hrs a day. There are more pros than cons. Pros, the fan works great it’s light weight and small enough to fit in my hood without hitting me in the face. It’s quiet and powerful. Blows enough air to keep smoke out of my face and keep my lens from fogging up. Wire is long enough to keep hood completely balanced and not making it heavy to one side. Cons: the battery pack is not the best of design, it can be difficult to remove the battery and installing it. The on/off switch can be difficult to move when in a hurry and have gloves on. Recommendations: I would remove the battery pack and replace it with a lippo battery that you can put into model planes that you can remove from fan and recharge. Then adding a push button that can be easily accessed off the fan. All in all great product already talking to my safety team and owners of the shop to invest in these.

The product is lightweight which is great for a helmet, however it is poorly made. I received the fan and was pretty excited because it didn't weigh very much at all. However the battery case didn't come with a retaining screw to the battery box won't stay close and constantly opens up. The battery case is also poorly designed and it is difficult to install or take the battery out. After about 5 minutes of use the fan just stopped working all together. Don't waste your money purchasing this fan.

The fan is about the diameter of an U.S.Silver dollar and it no thicker than my thumb. I do not use the sponge provided as I needed to remove moisture not add it. The air flow is perfect and the sound is barely noticeable, especially when welding. The nine volt battery pack could be made to open and close more securely but it hasn't caused problems to date. There is more than enough wire to mount the battery outside the helmet or anyplace inside that is convenient. Consider placement carefully as the on switch is mounted on the battery holder. I plan to purchase more for non-welding helmets that would benefit from increased air flow.

When it is switched on inside my helmet, it is very loud for all to hear. Takes away from the overall aesthetic imo. Does the job well otherwise!!

Advertised as quiet, I've had RC aircraft that were quieter than this. Absolutely appauling, the fan drowns out any other noises when mounted in a helmet. It is also very thick, meaning that for more space lacking builds it is not for you. Lastly, there is a broken piece of plastic hot glued on the blower side, I'm sure to direct air, but the glue restricts the airflow significantly Do not recommend for inside a helmet.

Fantastic! It's suuuper quiet, to the point I sometimes can't tell if it's ruining. This is prefect for inside a helmet. It even fit inside my very, very tight cosplay helmet . I tried getting my hair stuck in it; it didn't catch! Depending on where and how you stick it, you can direct the airflow to any part of your face. It includes two sticky Velcro sets for attaching the battery pack where you need it, and the fan where you need it. If you got more Velcro, you could easily swap it for use in many different helmets. The wire is super long (not annoyingly so), so you can really position the fan and battery pack where you need to, without feeling like you're limited by the wire length. Great product and I'm considering ordering a second for my father who's a welder!

Bought this to put inside of my welding hood, first things first, there is no retention screw to hold the battery door closed, so the cover basically just sits there. Second thing is the 9V battery (not included) has about a good 1/8” play in between the terminals to connect. So any slight movement of the battery box results in the fan shutting off. Do better

Super quiet and good airflow! There is some difficulty getting the 9V in, however.
