Highly effective and safe for lawns.
This product is my go-to for rapid effective control of crabgrass (and a bunch of other weeds roo). I have over an acre aro7nd my house and I get two x 30 gallon mixes out of this packet for my tow-behind sprayer: you can see results within a couple of days and within 7-14 every last weed will be white and dead, and the lawn will be fineI especially like that it works both pre- and post- emergent.

Works great!
This works great on Nimble Weed. Don't freak out when the weed starts turning white. That means it's working.

This stuff is amazing
Portions of my mostly Centipede grass lawn were being overrun by crabgrass, spurge, and some kind of thin grassy-like weed that grows in bunches (I thought perhaps it was poa annua, but that supposedly dies off in the Summer, and this stuff definitely wasn't). I tried some lawn-safe weed killers from the big box store, but these did not help much (seemed to affect the spurge a bit, but the other weeds laughed at it).It got to the point where I was out on my hands and knees trying to manually dig out all these weeds (while also trying not to dig out the good grass that was interspersed), but I really felt like I was fighting an impossible and losing battle. Stumbled on to Tenacity (and this generic equivalent, Torocity), and the results have been astounding. After several rounds of applications over the course of a month or so, I'm finally getting an upper hand on fighting these weeds. The only downside is that it's not an instant kill, takes a few weeks. And before dying, the weeds turn white (about 5 days after application), which can look a bit funky in the yard. But saving me from many seemingly pointless hours digging up these weeds from the yard, it's worth it.Edit (about two months later): the crabgrass is completely gone, and good grass (again, of which there was a little bit scattered among the crabgrass) has filled in nicely. One small issue to note is that the markings on the syringe did not last very long... I suggest taking a knife and lightly carving in a notch at each increment (or just the one that you typically use for the size of your sprayer).

Seems to be just like the real thing 🤷‍♀️
I have been using tenacity for the last 2.5yrs to rid my yard of an insane amount of crabgrass. When I ran out of tenacity this summer, I just could not justify the price in replacing it with the name brand. This item did exactly what tenacity does. It turned all the weeds white, and hopefully next week they will start dying for real. I can’t speak to it as a pre-emergent (I used tenacity name brand in the spring. Obviously it didn’t prevent all the crabgrass, but every season it is getting better and mostly around my curbs). Hopefully this off brand does just as well as a preventative measure. I will know in the spring of 2026. Still I would say it’s worth 5 stars as a post emergent. It’s very hard to kill crabgrass without killing the whole yard.

Works but not as potent
I found it took closer to 6-7 days to see the weeds turn white, which is a little slower than other products of the same composition. I did not observe any grass being affected and only weeds. For larger weeds it took a little more product mixed with water than the instructions indicated to be effective.

Great product
Great on weeds and grassy weeds. I use it often.

What you need to know
The seller banned my original post for being honest in a review. In my opinion after years as a lawn care nerd with the best lawn in the neighborhood, I feel this is over priced (again, just my opinion), and the only reason I bought from this seller is they included the little syringe for easy measuring and I was in a rush and did not do my due diligence and compare prices, so that's on me. Now that I have that syringe...anyway, this is Mesotrione at 40% which is sold under the generic name Torocity.Mesotrione itself works well enough if you expect what you read on the label. A lot of people post negative reviews because it is so slow, but it is as slow as it says on the label, so expect what you read. If you complain it is slow but the time it takes is exactly what the label says, that's on you.If you expect what you read, then this is a good herbicide...although it would be better if this seller included a full label PDF with this pesticide. As far as a post-emergent, in my opinion and having used dozens of herbicides on several types of warm and cool season grasses, it's really, REALLY slow to kill weeds, just as it says on the label. Mesotrione is on the lower end of cost compared to several post-emergent herbicides, but it has its uses. If you have Goosegrass, this is worthwhile as Goosegrass is a real pain in the butt weed to kill, and almost impossible once the weed gets past the 4 tiller stage. Mesotrione will not prevent Goosegrass from germinating, so you can only kill it after it germinates which kind of defeats the purpose on my lawn as a pre-emergent. That was my experience when I used this product. I was going to use this product on the Goosegrass in my newly seeded lawn, but I had another post emergent herbicide on my shelf, and in my case, safer post-emergent that took care of my Goosegrass as I could not use Mesotrione for somtehing like 28-30 days after the pre-emergent application, or after a few mowings, whichever is longer. I was able to safely kill my Goosegrass with a different herbicide without the risks of applying too much Mesotrione with close applications. Once my lawn is established, I'll be using other pre-emergent herbicides that are longer lasting. 21 days with a single application is not great outside growing new seed in my opinion. This product only gives you a pre-emergent barrier for 21 days. In the lawn care world, 21 days for a pre-emergent is pretty short, unless you're putting down new seed that is on the safe list on the label. For me, that was Ryegrass and Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. As expected, the Ryegrass germinated in 4 days (I saw the first shoots at 50 hours), and the KBG took about 10 days for the first shoots, which is typical for both types of grass so that was good and this herbicide did not seem to hinder any new growth that I could quantify. This Mesotrione did block a lot of weeds, but I still had several weeds pop up. That is not a big deal. There is no way to grow new lawns from seed without having weeds pop up. If you make a seed bed that is good for desirable grass types, it's also good for weed seeds that are already in your soil This is what the Mesotrione will help with.Without a full label PDF, it's hard to say all the pro's and con's, and health risks without a full label that is easy to read without a magnifying glass before buying this pesticide. If this seller (and some others) would provide a PDF document on their pages, it would be beneficial. Why Amazon does not require this when pesticides are sold or items requiring PPE is beyond me. And I feel it is just shady to not give people this safety information up front before they make their purchase. Heck, even with a children's toy they will tell you it is a choking hazard, but this pesticide that requires PPE (which I believe is protective gloves, long sleeves, long pants, preferable rubber boots, and requires you to wash these items separately from other laundry) does not? Where's the logic?Keep yourself safe. Find a full label PDF before you end up dong a "spray and pray" that you followed all the instructions that are not listed on this site BEFORE you buy their product. Typically, I only buy my herbicides from sellers that have the full labels listed on their site, but I did not this time. The only real use that I'd buy this for as an experienced lawn care nerd that could almost host my own content online is for a pre-emergent application when putting down new seed. It doesn't stop all weed seeds from germinating, but it blocks enough to make it worthwhile for that single use, at least for me. Pre-emergents are essentially root pruning herbicides that block mitosis (I think that's right) so the cell division is slowed or stopped enough that the roots and blades of grass do not extend enough to pull nutrients and water from the soil, and the blades do not get sunlight for photosynthesis, and the seed does not germinate fast enough to survive, and the new plant dies before it establishes, typically before it emerges from the soil, thus the name pre-emergent. I've also read that it is good to rotate pre and post emergents so weeds do not build up a resistance to a certain type of herbicide. I hope they do not ping me for saying that, but if too many people use herbicides improperly and farmers that grow crops and feed America start losing crop yields because of it...which is more important? Feeding the USA with abundant crops, or people having a pretty lawn by not using herbicides properly? So, read and follow the instructions. I doubt they will ping me for that since if the EPA restricts the sales to only lawn care professionals with a pest control license, that would hurt their sales.
