I was actually VERY surprised at the quality of these flip-notepads. For years I've bought Flip-Notes in stationery stores and gift shops cuz I LOVED the beautiful, metal cases they came in. But the PENS?!?!?!??! Here is truly where the entire notepad falls to pieces. I have never ever - not EVER - had a FlipNote pad with a working pen. Not EVER. I've bought replacement ink cartridges to no avail. The cartridge is FULL, but the pens never worked. In utter frustration, I decided to try a completely different brand: Zonon. I got two metal flip cases, a total of 4 notepads and the two pens that slide into the side of the case. These are the IDENTICAL size of my FlipNote pads, so I can even use my leftover refill pads. More importantly: the PENS WORK! They have an easy flow and a slightly thicker laydown of ink. By contrast, the FlipNope pens were scratchy, BALD of ink until I sucked on the tip of the pen (not a good idea!), then would write a letter or two and NO MORE INK again. These Zonon pens write as good as ballpoint pens I've paid $50 or more for. My only quibble is that they don't have a clip to hold them securely in the pen holder. So, if you squeeze the case a bit, the pen has actually slipped out. AH SO WHAT. I'd rather bend down and pick up a working pen than be driven crazy with pens that never work EVER. I recommend these simple, attractive Zonon notepads, but would hope over time they come out with some nicer designs? I keep the black one in my car and the lavender one in my purse. Very happy with these!

This is the best buy for a beautiful metal pocket notebook. I picked this and another product. This one is the best. It arrived with two metal notebooks, one a lilac color, gorgeous; and one a black, very nice. The pens are so nice, flowing ink, ballpoint, easy to use, fit perfectly to hold the notebooks closed. The plus factor with this order is that it came with two additional replacement unlined notepads. Very nice! So: two beautiful, metal, elegant, last forever, really special notebooks, with very nice pens, accompanied by two replacement notebook refills! What's not to love?!?

I like how little these are. However the pen is always sliding out and getting lost in my bag.

Love this little notebook! It's so compact, and the metal cover makes it durable. I'm a writer, so I like having a tiny notebook to whip out if I suddenly see a name or place that I want to jot down for use in a story. I'd tried bigger notebooks in the past, but being bigger, they were just too inconvenient. I had to carry them in my purse, where they took up more space that I'd like. This is small enough that I could fit it into most pockets if I wanted too, though I usually keep it in a small side pocket of my purse. Being that I carry it around all the time, it needs to be able to withstand wear and tear. A standard notebook with cardboard covers wouldn't be able to do that, but the metal is perfect for that. I also love how the pen fits perfectly alongside it (no fishing around for a pen when I want to use the notebook; it's right there!), and I love how removing the pen automatically opens the spring-loaded notebook. Convenient on multiple fronts. The minor cons are that 1) the pen will fall out of its holder if the notebook is held upside-down, so you have to make sure it won't get jostled into that position and 2) when I keep both the black and violet notebook in the same pocket of my purse, the black cover seems to rub some kind of black residue off on the violet cover. The residue rubs away easily, so it's not a big deal, but still something that probably shouldn't be happening. But overall, I love these little notebooks. I will happily recommend them, and I will buy replacement pads when I run out of space in my current ones.

These are great little pads. The metal container keeps the pad inside neat and clean. The attached pen makes it easy to make a note when you need to. No searching for a pen or pencil. Great size, fits in a pocket easily.

Perfect size, durable, and once the pen clicks into place it doesn't fall out. Very clever and simple design - just perfect.

What’s great about these, they are easy to keep in a small purse! AND more importantly it makes my granddaughters have to come to me for refills! Though I’m pretty sure they shop on Amazon! 😂 My oldest granddaughter came over today and I gave her some fine point markers in different colors. She loves pens as much as I do.

I like the note pad, but the pen that comes with it is to small to fit properly to hold it closed, so I’ve lost it, this now the cover won’t stay closed and I’m having trouble finding a replacement.
