i have a 3stage vacuum on carpet extractor, bought 2-stage vacuum on amazon by mistake, will it work?

Depending on how it is to be mounted it may work except for the height difference and the water lift via airflow. There is a difference in power for sure... Have you attempted to return it to Amazon and get credit for another 3 stage unit ?
