Q: Can I view all 8 cameras on the monitor at the same time?

The software allows up to 64 cameras!! I only have 4 which is fine. Using the software you can look at 1 camera full screen or all 4 or 8 or 12 etc, the more cameras the smaller the picture of course, the answer to your question is yes. I can also view all 4 cameras on my phone but I don't think it has provision for anymore, but there again I only have a 4 camera system. Hope this helps, there is one downside in that I can't get the alert system to work ie I am unable to set up the system to e mail me when motion is detected which it is supposed to do.

YES. You can. There are many types of DVR/NVR and camera in market and not every camera can work with any DVR/NVR.
