Nice basic uncomplicated remote control for television!
This uncomplicated remote control covers all of the minimum controls needed to operate just about all televisions. I have tested it on 4 different brands of televisions and I find it works great. You can control your television inputs such as antenna or cable and you can control your choice of television's inputs. The only button that hasn't worked on any of my televisions is the sleep button. Other than that, the control is small and light and has a nice comfortable feel. It's great if you have visitors who are not tech savvy and get intimidated when handed outrageously loaded remotes. This one will make them smile.

Not a Sony like it states in the Headline
This product was so light and cheap plastic, and it only had a couple of codes/brand. I bought it for my elderly father who is having trouble operating the more complex remotes, but this on is not the answer. I am a Sony fan and I saw that in the headline so I purchased it. No where on the remote does it say Sony; it's cheap China junk. Amazon needs to regulate this type of false advertising, but thank goodness for their return policy.

“SONY” RM-EZ4 vs RM-ez4+ : Same but VERY Different !
I purchased this remote to replace one of two of the original SONY remotes that ceased functioning after several years. I would have preferred a genuine SONY RM-EZ4, but they seem to be extinct. The RM-EZ4+ remote received does function, but is considerably different my remaining original remote (see photos). Besides the obvious upside-down button position, the shape and ‘heft’ of the SONY make it easier to handle. I had a bit of trouble setting-up the replacement remote even though I know both the TV and Cable codes. The IR ‘beam’ of the replacement remote is either narrower or weaker, or both, than the SONY due, possibly, to the switch from AA to AAA batteries. Having two remotes now with different configurations is still frustrating since I now need to identify control buttons by sight rather than automatically from habit.NOTE: Please note that my “rating” of this product is based upon my personal situation; other users may be totally satisfied. I, however, will 'keep my eyes open' for a genuine SONY.

Good for elderly
My mom understands this remote control better because the volume & chanel buttons use the same symbols. Imagine that. It might seem funny to say this but all the other remotes controls use up & down arrow symbols for chanels and plus minus symbols for volume. Also, using plus plus & minus symbols make my mom think this is a calculator. This confuses my mom. Why not be consistant & simplify things by just using up & down arrows for both the volume & chanel buttons. Well, this control does just that. And, there are less buttons to confuse and the buttons are big. Great product.

Not great for visually challenged
I purchased this in the hope that it would work well for a family member that has difficulty with vision. While the remote technically works and most of the buttons are big with high contrast, the problem came while trying to use it for her TV via a cable box.To change the channel, you have to first press the tiny CBL/SAT button. Once you've done that you can't change the volume on the television or turn the TV off without first selecting the small "TV" button. Each time she would want to change the channel or volume, she would have to first select whether the signal should go to the cable box or the TV using buttons that are too small for her to easily see.Technically, the product works, but it's not at all ideal for someone with vision difficulty.

Similar to Sony RM-EZ4.
I purchased this remote as a gift. It is similar to the Sony RN_EZ4 but represents a significantly improvement in layout of the keys. It suffers, as most devices for the elderly, by providing instructions which are too small to read.

Does not work
Bought this remote for my sister who has mild dementia. Thought it would be perfect and simple for her to use. The instructions were very simple but did not work The television would turn on and off but volume and channel functions were non existent. Customer service? Also nonexistent. Very disappointing.
