DEWALT DW7881 Scroll Saw Work Light

I purchased the DeWalt Scroll saw after reading many reviews for various saws. Unfortunately, unlike most of the other saws, it does not come with a light. So... I ordered this light since it is made for this particular saw. The saw frame has a predrilled hole to mount the light. It is a very good quality light and works perfectly with the saw. It should at the price.

This is a great light! I cut right to the chase and installed an LED bulb because of the other reviews saying how bad the 25w that comes with it is. I knew I wouldn't like it from past experience with such bulbs. I used my saw today with the light and I couldn't be more pleased. It's definitely DeWalt quality. Very sturdy.

I read a lot of bad reviews of this lamp, but the fact is, it was cheap, and it attaches to the saw, so the arm of the lamp is out of the way of my workpiece. So, as long as it turned on, it would be a vast improvement over my old lamp. It DID turn on, and it is at least as bright as my old craftsman lamp (also 25 watt bulb), but this one can get closer, so it ends up being quite a bit brighter, and I don't have the shadow problems I used to have. The adjustable arm seems kind of loose (I set it where I want it, then it sags down another few inches), so I just set it a lot higher than I wanted it, and it settled down into the position I wanted. I suspect there are better lights out there, but honestly, this one is totally adequate, and a good price. (I got it in the bundle with the saw and stand).

We purchased this work light for my sons dewalt scroll saw. It was a very easy install onto the machine, you have to unscrew two screws on the machine and mount this on...simple. Plugged it in, works great. The bulb they provide isn’t the brightest, but I’m not going to deduct because of that. The actual lamp is great quality, the flexible shaft is sturdy,..the overall build quality is robust, you can feel it. Highly recommend.

Package arrived undamage and product is as advertised. I have not used the scroll saw and reserve judgement on that. I do expect it will perform flawlessly. I have used this saw before and I like it better than some others. It is well made and can last a lifetime.

The included bulb broke, thus I need find a new bulb It is mounted on saw and seems fine

For these old eyes, this lamp is super. It focuses light right where I need it. I was using a light clamped onto the scroll saw table; but, I found that with larger projects like puzzles I needed to keep moving the lamp as I rotated the workpiece. This lamp solves that problem because it is mounted to the arm above the table. I read about the bulb being too hot. That hasn't been a problem for me. When it burns out I will get an LED; but, until then it is fine.

The light is sturdy and works perfect. Easy to install, only complaint was the light bulb came shattered in the box

Began using it right out of the box. Easy to assemble. Smooth operation, very fine cuts. Easy to insert/change blades. Much nicer finish than my bandsaw could ever give me..

Flexible arm allows you to place light where you need it. Just bright enough. Power switch well made not cheaply manufactured.

I will try to make this straight to the point. Pros: I really like the fact that it is adjustable you can move it close or far to get rid of the light shadow. Used by professionals Lights up your working area easy to follow the lines for a proper cut Cons: Not easy to mount the light bulb that is why I am taking 1 star away from them. In my opinion, Changing a light bulb is not an everyday job and it is doable just not as easy as it should be. I think it is still worth to have one of these if you own a Dewalt scroll saw.

when i recieved this item the box was intact but the light bulb was unfortunalety not. Dewalt customer service didnt reply to my email but a replacement arrived by courier today. Thanks Dewalt.
