It was easy to use. Worked great.

I consider myself a fix-it man of average talent (I’ve changed my own oil and replaced disk brakes). Proceeding at a careful pace it took 4 hours and 45 minutes to restring a 3 line shade.The kit contained mostly everything needed and a lot that isn't. One problem the tabs on the cord guides that came with the kit were too small. Fortunately the old guides were worn on only one side and could be rotated. The Amazon ad didn’t state how much cord the kit contained. I needed about 40 ft, so I spent about $56 on the kit, extra cord, and a new cordlock. In retrospect I could have saved $27 by just buying the cord and cordlock, but that wasn't apparent until I took the shade apart. I didn't need the kit at all. However I was pleased to see the high wear points on the new cordlock (not in the kit) were metal rather than plastic.I decided to use a Hunter Douglas youtube video as an installation guide and it was pretty good. A couple of things took much longer than expected. The shades and cordlock came off easily but were a real bear to re-assemble, and the threading directions for the cordlock clamp were quite poor.

The kit, provided all of the materials needed to re-string and repair the blinds. The written instructions were OK, I looked up the blinds and watched the video which showed the step by step actions that were needed.

Worked great and now they are like new.

Not bad, but this kit does need tweaking to be a five star.- the threading tool should be a blunt needle, not a bent piece of wire. This would make it easier to thread through larger blinds.- there should be a spare end-cap included, mine was broken, don't know how common that is- additional tassel / universal covers should be included. In my experience, these break fairly often- a spare wedge clip (part of the actual window mounting bracket) would be good, I have had these break when tugged on by kiddos- kind of expensive for a bag of plastic parts, although I appreciated getting them all in one order+ the included book is better than online videos, but both together are best+ the included blind cord does seem to be of excellent qualityGive yourself some time and a large work area (the upper and lower covers need to be slid off sideways and this takes twice the width of the blind) and you should be able to repair most HD blinds with this kit.
