It Carrie’s a 16” MacBook Pro with room to spare, so it should work for you with no problem.

Q: I've got a thin hardshell case on my 16" MBP--will this still fit inside this case with the shell on?

If it's not really thin, probably not. The 16" MBP is a snug (not overly, but definitely not loose) fit in the case. Keep your tomtoc packaging in case your shell is too thick.

Q: What are the internal measurement for the 16 inch model

According to the description: Internal Dimensions - 14.13" x 9.77" x 0.71" (I bought the one for the MacBook Air.) A couple of notes: Except for the zippers, all the hardware is plastic; the 2 pockets are so close together it makes the zippers difficult to open completely.
