Healed wrist
This mouse is great to alleviate wrist pain.

anti rsi.
I've been having some serious wrist/forearm pains from overuse on the computer. I was going to physio, which didn't help at all just gave temporary relief. I went to the doctor, got my nerves tested, got xrays, blood tests, even went to a plastic surgeon to talk about soft tissues! I read an article on WIRED about "RSI" or "Repetitive Strain Injury" and it made sense of this madness. Basically, you gotta stop doing that repetitive behaviour, which was what I was told, but that doesn't really help at all because I work on my computer. Fortunately I found this mouse and you can feel the relief in tension in the wrist right away compared to a normal mouse. I haven't been using it long, but it feels much more comfortable. I also got software called "Anti RSI" which schedules little breaks so you can shake out the arms a bit. I haven't bought a ergo keyboard yet but that's the trifecta in this whole mess. First step though, this mouse. It's a bit pricey but it's nothing compared to the "CLAW!" Also as a bonus the mouse has a lot of buttons to program which makes computer usage a lot more efficient. Easy choice. Stop reading this and get the mouse already. You're forearms will thank you.

Great but has one major design flaw.
Its a real shame I had to send this back. It was really a great feeling mouse. Nothing else like it that I have ever tried. The grip is patented so thats probably why. The reason I had to send it back was because every time your finger lifts slightly off the left mouse button after a click, it makes a plastic "boing" sound that gets irritating very fast. All the other buttons are secure, feel solid, and are quit. However the main button, the left click button, is fastened on by a narrow plastic hinge that looks like it could easily snap off if your finger were to stick to the button too much upon releasing your grip. Makes you wonder why a company would make such a poor design choice in the production cycle of this beautiful device. Didn't have any connectivity issues, actually it connected faster after a sleep than my Magic Mouse does. Wish I could use it but I cannot justify paying this much for a device with such a design flaw.

Best vertical mouse I've tried, lasted years
After searching across the web for vertical mice and trying out a half dozen options, this was the only reliable brand that resolved my RSI. I really like most options including the wireless connectively, pointing, and clicking. I am replacing this after about 3 years because I dislodged the scrollwheel and it's tough to repair. If you treat this mouse well and clean it, it looks and works as new after years. I only wish that were quiet click and quiet scrolling features across all Evoluent mice. That would be a nice addition in the next version. Take care to avoid accidentally triggering the thumb buttons, as that will get annoying. I believe you can change this in the Device Manager settings.

The wireless bluetooth white Evoluent vertical Mouse is great. Easy to get used to and really has stopped my hand, wrist, and shoulder pain from being on the computer a long time. I now use a wired Evoluent one at work on a Dell, and I use my white wireless one at home with my MAC because I still use the computer at home and play games. It really is better than the "flat" mouses. I started using these vertical mouses about 2 months ago at both work and home. Love them. Make sure you get the "bluetooth" one if you want wireless. Otherwise, you have to use a USB thing that you stick into a USB port so the mouse can pair with the computer. So if your computer is bluetooth enabled you'd want to get the wireless bluetooth one, not the wireless USB one. Also, the wired one works great too.

Junk Grade Plastic, Poorly Made.
What a piece of crap. Cheap plasticky body and base, it feels like dragging a plastic car without its wheels on the desktop. Add to this poor quality, noisy and unpredictable switches and you'll see why it has so many 1 and 2 star reviews. I suppose for someone who has only mild wrist issues, this may do, but I have moderate spasticity and found myself turning off all the extra buttons and scroll wheel - I was having too many accidental hits. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in this very expensive mouse. I went back to an old standby, the 3M Ergonomic Mouse, 3M Wireless Ergonomic Mouse, Large Size, Black (EM550GPL) It's very reliable, comes in wireless and corded versions, and is far less expensive. It uses the thumb (which generally has the strongest finger muscles) to operate a rocker switch for left and right click, and also has an additional switch that works on some apps for scrolling. I found it to be plug and play on Mac and Windows.3M Wireless Ergonomic Mouse, Large Size, Black (EM550GPL)

the perfect mouse
I have CDIP which is a neurological disease related to muscular sclerosis. My fingers are very very weak and I need to use a mouse all day. I have been perching mouse after mouse after mouse after mouse looking for the most comfortable and easiest mouse to use. I use Photoshop and also required an accurate mouse. I like to read on the web and a good scrollbar is important to me. This mouse seems to do it all. It is very easy to click the scrollbar is highly accurate and easy to control and it really seems to have a great deal of precision. It is also the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. It connected up very easily to my Surface 4. I really cannot highly recommend this product enough even for a person who does not have issues with their hands. This is just a great great product.
