Another healthier lifestyle book from this author -- very good.
If you don't like or can't tolerate real cow's milk, then this book is ideal for you. In fact, these recipes can work as well for all people who'd like a delicious and healthier shake than normal. But frankly, as a kid raised on a dairy farm of 40 to 50 milch cows, I never noticed any cows envious of anything except their neighbors' hay and grain. This book really isn't about cows but about non-milk shakes, not "milkshakes." [Pardon me--just playing with words.]NOW -- to these healthier shakes. Yum! We begin with FROTHY CHOCOLATE SHAKE and 29 more shakes later, end up with BLUEBERRY-VANILLA SOY SHAKE. Be aware that not everybody can tolerate soy milk. But if you can, this one sounds delicious. I'm sure you can use other beverages--almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, hemp milk, etc. All worth a try with these recipes. I'd experiment with COCONUT MOCHA FRAPPE.Shakes can have a lot of healthy ingredients, including fruit, avocado, kale, almonds, chocolate chips, cinnamon, quinoa, dates, pistachios, chia seeds, honey, granola. The author lists ingredients and directions for preparation; it'd be hard to go wrong. But even if you do vary the recipe, most of your shakes should turn out quite delicious and nutritious. Really worth trying. I'm looking forward to "It's My Birthday Shake!" -- only a few months away. Yay!
