We needed a sturdy awning over the back door that would stand up to wind, rain & snow. This awning with the aluminum brackets and solid polycarbonate sheets is the answer! Okay, the included instructions are clear as mud. But after watching a few videos on Youtube and coming up with a couple of tricks of our own, the installation went very smoothly and quickly. Took my husband and I about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. Handy hint...when installing the rubber sealing gasket around the sheet, use good quality masking tape to hold it in place until you are ready to put the sheets into the brackets. Then carefully peel off the tape as you work the sheet into the bracket grooves. We also used a ratcheting strap (carefully) to hold the unit together as we lifted it into place, as shown on one of the Youtube videos and that worked great. Very pleased with the quality and it looks really good!

It is very flimsy and requires at least two persons to mount.

Bought another product first and only realized that one was plastic and light. Switched to this one, really sturdy. And looks high end finish.Instructions were acceptable. Should be more detailed.

I really like this product. It brings stylish, elegant awnings to the DIY homeowner. BUT, there were no instructions on how the attachment system works (see pic). I used to manage a hardware store, and I have never seen anything like these bolts. I tried using them a number of ways, but they just never tightened up. Save yourself the trouble. Go up to a big box store, get a handful of stainless steel (preferable) or galvanized 3/8” lag screws and some stainless washers, drill your pilot holes, and use a socket wrench to tighten them down to your wall (last step in the assembly). You can get a little can of gloss black oil-based paint to make the lag heads blend in. If I would have done all this to start, I would have saved 1/2 days work.

These are much stronger than some other awnings. I can literally do a pull-up on this. With the metal brackets and polycarbonate sheet, the awning can handle snow load and should last a long time.

IMO buyer needs some strength and skills to install this awning. Product is more expensive, but it is well worth it. The aluminum brackets are very strong and the panels seem pretty Solid.Purchased 40x80 inches

I purchased two awnings. They were installed professionally. After a heavy wind, both blew apart. The brackets were made out of pot metal and broke in half. When I contacted the company for replacements within the 12 month warranty, they said those parts were not under warranty so I had to buy them separately. I threw away $500 on these two awnings.

Good, solid awning.Ordered this more expensive model because it has an aluminum frame instead of the lower cost models with the plastic frame.Roof panels are good quality pieces.Installation instructions were a little vague for the wider 2 section unit, but overall installation went well.It does take at least two people to install.
