Pleasantly surprised by this utensil set. It is very sturdy. But, with sturdiness comes weight, so, if you plan to go backpacking, you'd probably be better off with a titanium utensil set. I bought these to keep a set in my car so I can avoid taking plastic utensils for use with take out food. Less plastic to pollute the planet :-). It is perfect for that. The only negative is that the edges of the rivets on the spoon handle are a bit rough. The manufacturer should grind them smooth or round them.

These work well. I don't like eating from plastic. It used to be an aesthetic thing, and now its concern over the plastic fragments we are consuming daily. They may be in the air I breath, but I don't need to increase the load by sticking plastic in my mouth. These are handy, easy to have in my desk drawer at work, in my purse, even a set in the console of my car.
