Physics Mastery for Advanced High School Students: Complete Physics Review with 400 SAT and AP Physics Questions

As a high school physics teacher for over 25 years I have seen a whole lot of AP and SATII test review books. This is the best book I have seen for excellent comprehensive physics review and practice. Each unit has great explanations and derivations of pertinent equations, followed by worked out examples, followed by many multiple choice and free response practice questions. The questions are broken up by difficulty, with some at the SAT physics subject test level, and others at the level of AP physics 1 and 2 problems. The questions are very well written and and require solid understanding of concepts. So many other review books have weak questions riddled with mistakes or ambiguities - not this one.Another thing that this book has going for it is that you really get two books for the price of one. When you go to the book's website you can access the full solutions to every problem in the book. These are not just the answers - these are detailed explanations that include shortcuts and hints at how to answer the question most easily. The solutions book alone is another 250+ pages! The solutions are more in-depth and helpful than in any review book I have seen.If you are preparing for the SAT physics subject test, the AP physics 1 or 2 test, or even if you just are looking to learn, review, and practice in advanced high school physics, you should get this book.

A wonderful guide book for SAT and AP 1,2 Physics. All key topics are covered along with an additional chapter on relative motion and special relativity, which I don't think other books contain. The important theorems/formulas/laws are both boxed and bolded. Many interesting problems are included at the end of each topic. A lot of these problems also come with alternative solutions that are explained in terms of dimensional analysis or physical intuition in a conversational tone, which are especially enjoyable to read (See figure attached for an interesting example). Highly recommended to anyone out there looking for a clearer book!

I am a physics private tutor and I use this book with my students because the sample questions resemble the SAT subject test's questions a lot. Every concept is explained in detail, so if you study physics for the first time you'll be able to follow through as if you were taught by a professor. Formulas and proofs of concepts are all emphasized and are easy to find if you don't feel like reading everything. Overall highly recommended - if you solve every problem in this book you'll be more than ready

I didn't personally get this book, but my granddaughter, 16 y/o, in highschool in Europe, called to thank me. She was reading it and got a better grasp of Physics. She showed it to her teacher and classmates, whom all wanted their own copies.

Excellent Physics book. It has many problems to develop a good understanding of the topic.

The review section appears to be solid and comprehensive, but the "free" solutions guide seems to have been pulled from the website, meaning you would now have to pay another $35 just to access it. I would've liked if there were at least an answer key included with this book.
