They are silicone and should be left on, they help keep the plate in place.

It's a 2qt. 1000 watt air fryer. It only cooks 2 to 3 at a time. If you want to do a bird you should of done a 10 or 15 or even a 30 qt. 1500 watts min. To feed a family and then some. To get something so small made for 1 or 2 people. There's a word for you people but I won't say it
