Mayordomo - Cadillac of mole sauce
This is a top quality product and the supplier that I ordered from, MexTouch, is a small family owned business that provides first class service. I did a lot of research before buying this particular brand of mole paste and different internet sources pointed Mayordomo out of Oaxaca, Mexico to be the best. I have ordered this twice so far to serve for guests and have had amazing feedback. It is as good as or better than any Mexican restaurant I have been to, in my opinion. The paste is very condensed. In preparing I added 1 quart of chicken broth and a large 28 oz can of tomatoes that I pulsed in a food processor first. I brought it to a simmer for 5-10 minutes and finally I added 1/2 of a grated bitter chocolate bar such as Ghirardelli. The resulting sauce has a complex taste that is somewhat sweet with a wonderful spicy kick. I served it alongside grilled chicken breasts and was able to serve 12 people easily and had plenty of leftover sauce. The leftover sauce will keep for a week and is great over eggs or as add on to many things. This is definitely my go to mole for the future.

Broken seal
I ordered two jars of Mayordomo mole negro. Unfortunately one of the jars’ seal is broken. Therefore, I will not be able to prepare “mole negro” for my friends. I would like to have at least some credit for the damage merchandise.

Authentic Mole Sauce
I found out about this product when it was a part of a gift basket from a hotel I stayed at in Puerto Escondido. We finally made some mole sauce for chicken enchiladas when we got home and it is absolutely legit! It was some of the best mole sauce I have had...and I always order a mole dish when dining at a better Mexican restaurant. Jar is concentrate, so it makes 2-3 batches of rich, delicious sauce. Add the chocolate...the touch of sweetness just adds to the authenticity and complexity.

Taste = Too sweet
Seems like a high quality product, but as a matter of personal taste I think it has too much chocolate. The first time I made the mistake of adding some Mexican chocolate after reading reviews that many people do that. I like chocolate, but suggest you don't add any the first time. Even with no additional chocolate I found it too sweet for my liking.

Kosher Mole
So far as I know the only kosher-certified mole and is authentic and tasty,

Rich, flavorful mole!
This makes a wonderful mole! Here is how I used it: 4 boneless chicken thighs, cut up in bite sized pieces, saute until they are cooked through or almost through. In the meantime, I put several large spoonfuls of the mole in with 8 oz of chicken broth in a separate pan. I cooked this over medium heat to mix it and thicken it slightly. When the chicken was done, I poured the mole over the chicken, and then continued to cook while the sauce thickened. Delicious! Although this was an expensive product, and the instructions called for using the entire jar, I didn't need that much for just 1 dinner. Rich, flavorful sauce! I will definitely buy again! It also shipped very quickly! Previous moles I had purchased in Mexico had MSG, and this has none of that, so well worth the price!

Glass jars of mole are broken
We’ve purchased these before and these are supposed to be sealed jars, but both jars which were only packed in cardboard boxes, were delivered completed damaged. Whole box and contents smell like mole. Not safe to eat.

Restaurant quality and super easy!
Fabulous mole, good or better than any restaurant! I added a whole jar to a quart of hot chicken broth along with a heaping tablespoon of unsweetened plain Hershey’s cocoa powder.Put the mixture in a crockpot with a dozen boneless and skinless chicken thighs on high for about 3 hours, as I was in a hurry. The results were delicious perfection with plenty of extra sauce to serve with!
