What's the depth measurement? would it accommodate a power adapter for a macbook? (sticks out about 4.5")

Thank you for your question. After testing in our office I regret to inform you that the internal depth of the cover box can house power adapters up to 3" depth. Can this be used for a cable cord outlet?

If I understand correctly you are asking if a cable (as in cable TV) cord is compatible. It would be hard to say, cable cords can be a lot stiffer, you will have about 2 inches from the face of the outlet to bend the cable cord up or down so that it can exit out of the hole. So, if you can make that happen it should work out for you.
