Read a lot online on whether to spend a small "fortune" on Synology ram or this for my DS918+.Some say it works without error, others it works with warning.In the end, I couldn't justify spending £80 on 4GB DDR3 upgrade especially when the pre-installed 4GB had served me well in the last few years.Then I bought this one. The label on the packaging actually says "718+, DS918_, DS418play"That's a good sign.Plug it in, reboot, no error/warning.So far so good

I like this product, arriving in time. Easy to use and is currently being used as portable device.

This works perfectly in Synology DS918+, to increase the memory from stock to 8gb - the maximum supported.I ran a full memory test, and no errors reported. Very happy that I bought this rather than the 'official' Synology version - which was multiples more expensive.

It apparently matches the spec for the Synology 4GB module for the DS198+, but the nas doesn't boot with it installed. so, DON'T buy it for that purpose despite what the description says. It is not compatible.
