great, no slip sharp edge on these shears. the ergo grip is nice!
if you haven't used lineman's shears or splicers snips or whatever you call them, they are not just scissors. they have a micro-serrated edge so when you cut copper wire it will grab the wire to allow you to cut even substantial gauge wire. short, strong blades give you great leverage so that you can use even the tip to clip wire or zip ties or whatever you can get the tip onto since it won't slip off. (shears really have great bite- most heavy duty snips or scissors will just slip off smooth round heavy wire.)HANDLING TIP: you don't hold them like scissors, you put the ergo loop with the flat side in your palm and a finger, usually the middle finger, through the round loop...there's videos out there. do do a cut, you squeeze you whole hand like making a fist. this allows you to put a lot of power into the cut. the ordinary lineman's shears that I was given when I started with the phone company didn't have that flat loop so they could be hard on the palm when you had to cut something beefy, so we would use gloves as long as you could get a finger through the loop. regardless of the design, the experienced splicers told me the standard splicer's shears were capable of cutting a penny in half. a penny is made of zinc, a LOT harder than copper, so that's quite a feat. (although I didn't doubt them, no one ever showed me that party trick.) I'm not saying you should try that with these shears but I believe these are forged steel and capable of any heavy cuts that an electrician or splicer would need to perform. I'm sure this model will hold a great serrated edge for years...I've had my original-design shears for 20 years and they still cut fine although I have to really crank on them to get them to cut heavy wire. these Fluke shear are SO much sharper and give me more leverage than my old shears, I'm glad I bought them. the ergo grip loop on them allows me to make heavy cuts without gloves on or herculean effort. it's a great design, especially for someone who will use them all day.

Nice, solid, reliable, and a little different than our others
I wanted to try a different snip as our go to snaps, kept disappearing and they are the same ones all of our cabling guys use so it’s hard to tell if someone picked it up accidentally. So I bought these as my personal snaps and now they’ve hung around for longer than our traditional snips and they’re just as good perhaps even a little better with the rubberized handle.
