So useful. We actually used it to repair an Ikea metal colander at least 5 years ago when the metal base ring became detached from the bowl (the welding was faulty). I assumed it would only last a few months, but here we are, years later & still going strong. We give it no special treatment, chuck it in the dishwasher etc - all good. I just wish I had done a neater job of it given the longevity....

I used it to fix the fraying cable from an old MacBook pro. It covered the damaged area just fine, but it is not that flexible, and the bonding is not that great. A good heat-shrink tube would be much more suitable for that job instead of this one. All those quick ads showing wonderful applications of Sugru are not really true. I used the leftover from my cable-fixing job to create a small hanger in the bathroom; the moment it dried out, it fell off the ceramic clean. Don't buy into the hype. I would not recommend it.

Selected : Grey 3 Piece Quite expensive, so only for “important/strategic” fixes for me! My use-case : Hobby electronics – I needed to fix two PCB’s inside a plastic enclosure. The backs of the circuit boards are not flat due to soldered connections so needed some means of fixing the board in a matrix. The PCB’s had no mounting holes or space for using standoffs. My hope was that the glue (like putty) would make a good enough cushion to push the PCB’s into. I hoped also that the glue would harden nicely and stick well to the plastic case as well as the PCB undersides. Each sachet contained much less gloop than I anticipated – the images and descripts did not prepare me for this. I had to use two out of the pouches to attach my components, so no room for error. I left the glue to set for 24 hours as per instructions for full hardening. I needed the boards mounted to be fixed firmly enough to allow a USB plug to be plugged/unplugged multiple times into one fixed PCB, and also an SD card to be inserted/ejected multiple times from another PCB board mounting. The glue did seem to do the job very well and hardened nicely. I don’t know how good the bond is because I didn’t want to break it to find out, but it certainly seems strong enough for my needs. It was quite an expensive solution though. Ideally I was looking for something like a permanent setting Blu-tak and at a lower price, but this was the best solution I could find. I would give this 5 stars for its functionality, it just seems rather expensive – I was hoping for a much greater volume of material for the price (£9.99 at time of review) Updated : When pasting my review there was a 30% deal on, which I missed out on, so worth keeping an eye on offers.
