Uranus: Freedom From The Known

No one does it like JWG
Love all of JWG’s teachings! Definitely recommend anything he’s written as he has revolutionized astrology by bringing evolutionary astrology and the possibility for lifetimes of soul growth to be studied in depth, and worked through. I I originally rated lower because I thought that Uranus in the ninth house was left out of my printed copy…. However it seems like it’s talked about in the 3rd house Gemini section, so it’s omitted in its own section. Just a heads up for anyone looking!

Uranus: Freedom from the Known
If you have a good working knowledge of astrology, this text will be of great help to you. Green describes Uranus as "freedom from the known", that is, freedom from the constraints of what you are already convinced of. Through a series of lectures, Green exposes this important planet and its influence, particularly its interaction with Saturn. However, the lectures are carefully woven together and are not disjointed or presented in a hodgepodge fashion. While many astrologers "keyword" this planet with "the unexpected" and "technical/electrical" a deeper meaning can be found in Green's book.

Not a useful reference book
I was very disappointed to find that this transcript of an astrology conference provides lots of opinions and very little coverage of the promised topic. The mention of Uranus in the houses was incomplete, the descriptions in the signs and aspects were anecdotal and, frankly, outdated. I have studied Astrology for more than 50 years. I was looking for a deeper understanding of my ruling planet and did not get that from this book. I will not purchase this authors work again.

Deep, but ultimately disappointing welcoming into Uranus
The book promises a chance to forget the known, to be free of what has been experienced. How can one be free of knowing, or ever forgetting, how Uranus feels like? Ultimately, this book only increases the desire to explore the unknown, sending rockets loaded with nukes deep inside Uranus, worried only about the load exploding prematurely. There is very little "freedom from the known" here. Where the sun never shines, nothing can be seen. If you can't see, how can you know? A mystery that demands to be explored in a more experimental fashion. Uranus remains a closed off enema, I mean enigma. This book promises a lot, but fails to deliver the ultimate relief. The second coming of this book did not help either. It's sad, that Uranus still remains a gaping borehole of astrological proportions.

Joyful reunion
I'm getting back into astrology and I have always loved Jeff Green's writings since his very first book. I am delighted with this because my existing one, very old, had fallen apart with overuse. Re-acquainting with an old classic, love it!

Some ...
First half of the book is well structured and knowledgeable this what deserves a 3 stars . However, the second part is completely chaotic, incomplete and disappointing. There are only a few exemples that is covered- in aspects the only aspect that is covered is Mercury , so if you are looking for a guide on aspects and transits of Uranus, look elsewhere. Quite disappointed to be honest, some parts are useful- the rest is a ramble.
