Sturdy and well built
I purchased this to replace a Reese TowPower Professional grade hitch lock that fell apart after three months of use. This Curt lock works smoothly and feels very sturdy. The end cap fits perfectly and should not easily come off during normal use. I am pleased with this purchase.Update: 1/9/15We have used this lock continually for about a year now, most of the time to protect our decorative hitch cover, but also anytime we put the receiver in the hitch. This lock is still strong, rust free and works smoothly. I actually use it to remove the cover frequently, as we use a dog step in the hitch or carry our bikes around. The rubberized cap has held up very well. We live in Southeast GA, so we do not experience the heavy winters of those in the northern climes, but for our needs down here, this has been and continues to be a great buy.

Feels solid and secure
It feels really heavy duty and works well on my 2019 Tahoe. I have had issue with the other pins fitting correctly because of space. This spins around so you can easily unlock when installed. I also like the rubber cover to protect the lock portion from water.

Made in USA!
Perfect. Made in USA! I only trust 'Curt' when it comes to towing. Reese is good, drawtite is good, but I am a Curt guy. It is simple and works like it should. I was thinking about ordering one of the nicer ones that fits snug and doesn't have any slack, but I didn't want to spend that kinda money. This is simple and cheap. It comes with two keys. I have maybe 2" of slack so it can slide back and forth. The lock works nice. I am not worried about somebody stealing my pintle hitch. I am very, very happy with this hitch lock. I would recommend this to anybody.

Keeping your trailer high where it belongs on your truck.
I've had a lock on my hitch for about 10 years every since I had one stolen, haven't lost another and at the price they or now you had better lock it in.This lock works great and will last for years.

Very nice
This item was actually better than I had expected, except for one thing - the mud cover has the potential to come off and it is not tethered to the unit. Therefore, it could easily be lost forever.Having said that, I recently used this item on a 2,500 mile journey without any problems. It operates smoothly and is plenty long (some pins are simply too short for comfort). The mud cover kept rain & mud from entering the keyhole, as it was designed to do.It is slightly bulky, which I thought might pose a problem, but it was no problem at all.Assuming this item stands the test of time, and if they were to re-design the mud cover so that it is tethered, I would give it 5 stars.

Easier to use than spin-on hitch pin locks
Nice lock -- I like that it has a snug fitting plastic cover over the key end and you don't need the key to lock it in place, only to unlock it. We have the spin-on style lock too, but they require two hands and the key has to be in putting it on or off - also the locking pin is much larger (stronger?) on this lock than the spin-on style. Not sure how they determine it is good for 18000 lbs, but I'm sure it is more than I'll ever test... Great for an expensive draw bar or bike rack, etc. - anything you don't want "walking away"...

DO NOT BUY - SAFETY ISSUE
Dangerous product!I have purchased 2 of this item. The first one, worked for a few tows, then I happened to notice the entire locking mechanism was MISSING! I figured this was a fluke, ordered a 2nd and after a SINGLE tow - the locking mechanism was missing upon arrival. Who knows where I lost it. It was locked and on securely - but during towing it not only failed; but fell off. This could cause a serious accident or death. Do not buy.
