Cheap, fits well, and durable
I lost my Marmot hat, which cost about $60. This didn't cost anyywhere near that and it got me through the winter and is looking like it will get me through several more. I bought one in green and one in orange. The orange one is not bright enough to qualify as hunter safety gear, but what the heck.

Ball cap with ear flaps
Now that it's winter in the midwest and dark by 4:30, i purchased this hat so I could attach a light to the brim and so that my ears could stay covered while walking my dog. This has been my go to hat so far. There is no neck coverage and the ear flaps aren't as good as ear muffs (do they still call them that?), but the hat fits nicely, keeps my ears covered, and the brim is perfect to clip on the tiny light. There are two places to adjust the size, but i will say, people with larger heads or thick bulky hair will probably not get the fit they need. I think my head is average, and it fits perfect, with no extra room.I appreciate being able to tighten the chin strap up when it's windy so my hands are free to manage my dog.As it gets colder, I will need to pair this with a scarf for better warmth.I do recommend this hat as a good value. Is it stylish? Probably not. But it's very functional and that's what I need.

Dorky but Functional
I'm not going to wear style points this, but it is good for cold and wet weather. I like the adjustable ear flaps. Do not buy this if you have an especially large head. I usually wear L's (or smaller sized XL's in hats) or 7 3/8 (but 7 1/2 sometimes works). I think most who wear XL's in hats or 7 1/2 or larger will find the hat too small.

I'm crazy about this thing
I'm a senior female with a dog so have to go out even when it's raining. Living in New England is a weather challenge (cold & rainy, freezing rain, sleet) and I don't care what I look like out there. This has been great for rain and messy weather AND I love the visor for early morning and late afternoon sun in my eyes. If you're a fashionista you probably won't this item but if you're practical you'll like it.

Not waterproof or reasonably water resistant
Okay for a sort time in a light drizzle, but not at all waterproof. In 30 minutes of modest rain, the fabric was saturated.

You wouldn't think it... surprisingly GOOD!
So surprised by this light weight, WARM but not hot little hat. It covers the ears with the sides flipped down, doesn't make my head sweat, but REALLY keeps it comfortable! I found myself wearing it outside in drizzle, wind, and cold days and although it's really thin, it just did it's job. Happy head, warm head, comfortable head! Good size, fit just right on my average bean. Highly suggested from this outdoor guy!

Great cap for the cold days but not waterproof
I like this cap. Comfortable and warm. I wouldn't rely on it for super cold days when a winter cap is needed, but it's a great cap for when a simple baseball cap isn't warm enough and a real wool winter cap is too warm. But the waterproofing isn't perfect. My fabric does wet out in spots. If you really need it waterproof, I suggest treating it with something. You can find a video of mixing mineral oil with melted wax to treat fabric with. No nasty chemicals needed...
