Q: My ice maker is a month old. It makes ice spradically. Shuts off after one cycle. What is wong with it?

The "button" that was referred to measures the ice quantity. There are two, one black and one clear. They are located at the top of the ice bin on the left and right. If the machine keeps shutting down, try a thorough cleaning. It worked for me. Unplug and remove the back cover. There are 5 screws on the bottom. Get a can of compressed air, and blow the inside out paying special attention to the condenser (radiator). I also ran some vinegar and water through it just like with a coffee pot. One important note. If you've had the maker on it's side, let it sit 30 minutes before starting it to prevent compressor damage.

We leave ours running 24/7. No problems! If the ice bucket is full, it melts and recycles. Have had it several months, never shut it off

Q: Are the “nuggets” like Sonic ice?

We find them to be exactly like Sonic or Chick-fil-A ice.

Q: How do you clean up in the hard to unreachable areas in the top when it gets dirty with yuk on this machine?

We have had our ice machine for a while and we do not see any gunk. I would improvise and use a kitchen tool with papertowel or rag wrapped around it and dip it in vinegar and clean with that. Maybe you should leave your lid open and drain all water from the bottom if you don't use it regularly!!!
