Does a great job. I looked at all the reviews in comparison for cooling pads. This one didn't rate the best. I really like the size area of the fans so I thought to give it a try. Two big fans in the middle. You can look at the pictures the manufacturer provides. What I did like is the dissipation of heat. This thing works great. Literally will drop the heat five the 15° in just a few seconds. A previously submitted the video on that. I'm not sure where it went.In any case I think this is a good cooling pad. I've been using for little while now.Pros:wide area (fits my 15 inch laptop no problem)huge fansquick dissipation of heatlow-profile disappears when using not obtrusive.It has an extra USB spot for the one you lose theoretically plugging it in. Do not plug it into your laptopConsit's quiet. But there is a sound there are two big fans going aroundthe number one reason this did not get a five star rating? The switches on the back. You have to reach around the back to turn it on and depending where you set your laptop that could be a problem. It is for me and cost one staralso note that this is sitting on a flat surface there's not a lot of escape area for the air to get out. I place two full posted no pads to raise it somewhat to get a better air exchange.Pro tip: do not plug this into your laptop for power if possible. This would be a drain on your power supply to run this continuously exchanging some of the heat dissipation that you purchased this for. In addition it will be using laptop resources. It's impossible to find the perfect cooler base for laptops. This one is worth trying.It works pretty well for the (insanely hot) 2019 top of the line macbookpro.The fans on this item are certainly not slient, but they're "pretty quiet". They are in fact quieter than the jet turbines on a '19 macbookpro so that's a good thing.It does in fact keep the MBP a little bit cooler; in tests one day with and one day without the cooler pad, the MBP is MUCH MUCH noisier, so, this 20 bucks device will help keep your sanity.I only ever use an external keyboard (in fact, the from-another-planet steelseries apex pro tkl - once you use one for engineering, that's it) so I can't comment on use of the laptop keyboard. But (A) laptop keyboards are a joke (B) no normal human could use the keyboard on a '19 i9 macbookpro - your fingers will turn in to lava!Note that EVEN IF YOU DO NOT TURN ON THE FANS, this is a GREAT product to lift the laptop and get airflow. (It's absolutely impossible to use a 2019 i9 mbp with it laying flat on the desk - the desk, your home, and the entire city will melt to the center of the Earth, so forget that.)Worth $20 to try it if nothing else. Good product. Very sensible that it is impact ABS and NOT a shitty attempt at a metal stand, ABS is the right tool for the job.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this but my 17" 4 year old laptop was getting a little too heated from regular activities like having Pandora on all day. I'm not a gamer so I wasn't interested in super flashy neon action. I just wanted a quiet fan situation that lets me get more life out of this otherwise perfect laptop. Just got it, popped it into the USB and it's perfect. Super quiet (and believe me, it only takes a little bit of noise to get me riled up) and in less than 5 minutes, my laptop cooled down and is staying cool. Plus, who doesn't like a little laptop breeziness in the summer. Highly recommend.

A pronounced ridge to hold the laptop, large, quiet (but not silent) fans that move air well, open slots that are less restrictive to airflow than mesh, no gaudy or flashy lighting, and a reasonable price. It's simple, affordable, and effective. The understated styling means that it wouldn't be out of place on an office desk, but the effectiveness still provides ample cooling for gamers or crunchers. My lap used to be burning up while holding my computer while also blocking airflow to the vents. Now not only is my laptop cooler, but my legs are being actively cooled! For most tasks, it is effective even with the fans off. Turning them on will only be noticed in a very quiet room.

This product is a lifesaver. When my laptop starting crashing several times a day due to overheating, I ordered a new computer - but it isn't going to come in for a month and I'm on deadline for a very important project for which I need my laptop to be working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Putting my laptop on icepacks that got warm after 30 minutes was not going to cut it. So I ordered this cooling pad hoping that it would at least decrease the number of crashes. Well - it completely eliminated them!!! My laptop hasn't overheated since I started using this cooling pad. Now I don't even need the new computer. Well worth the bucks. And if I had had this cooling pad from the beginning, I wouldn't have had to replace the battery (which had begun to expand and bow from the heat).I was concerned about the fan because I can't stand loud constant fan noises (and have replaced computers if they were too loud), but I had nothing to worry about. When they say whisper quiet, they mean it. I have to put my hand on it to be sure it is one because I can't really hear it.(I don't do gaming, so I didn't rate it for gaming, although I'm sure it would be great for gamers too. I do high-end heavy-duty database and development work.)
