Backcountry Access BC Link Group Communication System One Size (2 Radios)

Fragile and fail to work in the cold.
Bought these for snowmobiling and they didn't even last a couple of months. One never really worked well and stopped transmitting any sound once it got really cold (20 degrees F). They only way to fix it was to remove the battery and put the battery back in. Did this so many times during the day that eventually the connector for cable that goes between the main radio and the microphone/speaker snapped. The version 2 of these are out now and I would ONLY buy version #2 if you are interested in radios of this type. I resisted buying this brand again because of the waste of $279 on the first pair, but it looks like BCA addressed the weak cable connector by a complete redesign of version 2. Bought the Version 2 this winter and they seem to be working for the first couple of weeks. Design is better for sure. Again, don't buy these, they are garbage. Buy Version 2 instead.

Great Range
We can communicate from along distance (we have used it up to 5 miles away so far)and it is crystal clear.

Have worked great, glad I got them
Do a bunch of snowmobiling and dirt biking, got the radios in case someone got stuck or down the wrong trail. Have worked great, glad I got them.

Great walkies. Excellent reception- even at 11
Great walkies. Excellent reception- even at 11, 000 feet above sea level in the Rockies. I bought two of these for my backcountry ski group. Excellent investment in safety.

Must have.
We debated buying some of these for snowmobiling and we should have pulled the trigger earlier. They come in so handy.
