DT SwissStandard Spoke Nipples - Brass, 2.0 x 12mm, Silver

Ordered those to overhaul a 36 spoke wheel so 100 of those should’ve been plenty enough. Unfortunately, the nipples arrived in a paper bag inside a small plastic container. The lead was open and the nipples were scattered around the bag. Even worse, most were missing with less than 30 left! I’ve been ordering lots of things from Amazon and that was the first time it was delivered so poorly. Good thing is that the spokes I ordered also came with nipples. They didn’t appear as good as DT Swiss though, but more importantly, they were functional and all present. So I ended up just using those instead. I understand it is not the product though so still give it 5 stars. The quality is really good, the threads and surfaces for the wrench are perfect fitting nicely my Park Tool spoke wrench.

These nipples are strong, and dont chip unlike other brands.

I believe these are absolutely genuine, despite some other reviewers believing otherwise. I've purchased these before from a 100% reputable bike shop. They are identical, and came in the exact same plastic box with an identical label.These work well, but you do need to make sure your spoke wrench tool gets solid purchase on the nipples as you get to tighter spoke tension or you may round off the corners.

These are great. I can drive them in pretty tight with my park tool spoke nipple driver, and they don't round out easily.

Get these rather than black. The chrome seems to help them be much more durable. They don't bind on the spokes as badly and don't slip either I completely rebuilt the wheel that I originally used black nipples on and have had no issues with loosening squeaking or binding since changing them out.

I use the normal brass nipples on all my wheels. They last longer, are easier to retune, and won’t corrode like aluminum ones. IMHO the little penalty in weight is worth it, since I’m not a pro racer.
