Closer to "rust" than "cranberry" and not plush
I was disappointed when I opened the box - the towels were not "cranberry" and also not as thick as I expected. The color leans more toward "rust" - a more orange-red than pink-red. From the 725-gram description, I expected a towel much thicker and more plush. Not so. It's only slightly thicker than the 10-year-old towels I'm replacing.I followed the suggestion to wash them in vinegar before using them to disintegrate factory finishes. On the plus side, they didn't shed much and held their (wrong) color. They are also adequately absorbent and shipped very quickly. On the minus side, the towels aren't soft. Maybe it's the weave or the cotton they used, but I don't want to just bury my face in them like I have with other new towels. Sad.I'm not going to buy these again.
