great book
This book is great. It provides great tips and ideas for new principals. I would recommend this people to new principals and those seeking to become a principal.

Practical tips
Just started reading it. Conversationally written, it’s like Jen is chatting with you over a cup of tea (or coffee if that’s your preference). I’m an aspiring administrator and I enjoy the tips and down to earthness of the tone and language.

Must have
I have ordered more than my fair share of Amazon products without writing reviews. But after reading the first two chapters of this book, I feel compelled to share. New principals- this book is for us.

Practical strategies for all school principals.
As a new principal, I have been grabbing every book and resource I can find to help me do my job well. This book has been a welcome addition to my collection and I read it in just a couple of sittings because it was engaging, thought-provoking, and it provides practical advice. I particularly like the specific strategies for each of the common problems that school leaders face. I wrote the strategies down and will use them as a reference chart throughout the year. It sounds cheesy, but it really is like having a friend and mentor next to you, helping to guide you along your way.The only reason that I am giving it four stars instead of five is that I do not agree with some of the suggestions. For example, in regards to student discipline, the author states that she enforces a zero-tolerance policy for some offenses. I understand that this where we find ourselves across the country, but I am personally a fan of alternative discipline and I just don't believe that automatic suspension/expulsion is the right answer. Also, while the dialogues are good, and they largely resemble what I experienced this past year, they are manufactured. This is probably done to showcase the strategies that the author provides, but it is still kind of difficult to read these conversations. I did learn strategies from them, so I am still overall happy with the text.I highly recommend this book to all principals, new and old. I'm sure that you will find a lot of helpful information.

I've read several and this is the best of the books for a new principal. I love the straightforward way the author writes and how she shares her own experiences. Lots of wise tips and good advice. Highly recommend

It is okay.
Much of what is written is common sense. Nothing too profound in this book.
