I think people are being a little unfair here. For the price, you are getting a ton of features found in other, higher-end headphones. That being the case, yes the build quality is A BIT on the cheaper side. Even so, I found these headphones incredibly comfortable. The flexible connectivity options has made this an instant staple for when I travel and the long battery life certainly helps as well. Since giving it a full charge, I have used it to watch an episode of The Boys, several episodes of Blood of Zeus, and close to 4 hours listening just to music. The battery still reads as high. As for sound quality and noise cancelling, I enjoy the tone of the music. It is a bit muted and less dynamic compared to some of my other headphones, but the clarity is incredible. The noise-cancelling itself is pretty great for filtering out static sounds, the wind, etc. There is a significant difference between the feature being on or off. Will you still hear that car's horn blaring as your lack of attention causes you to step out into the crosswalk? Sure. But it still gets the job done just fine. You can do a lot worse at this point and hardly better. My suggestion to others out there... keep your expectations in check. For a $50 pair of versatile, comfy, noise-canceling headphones, Anker's Soundcore Life Q20's are certainly worth 5 stars.

[Updated review; added a star after working with seller and receiving the Q30 as replacement} Q20 LED issue still works as described; seller states that the manual needs updating to reflect actual LED operations. LED operation is minor; expect most folks to be able to know when they have headphones connected and operating. [note: Q30 LED also does not operate as manual states, but LED does indicate connected when operating.] Q20 NC is still subpar; Q30 NC is very good with several modes. [Note: Q30 requires phone app to access all the modes and change modes; no Windows app to access Q30 NC and Equalizer modes.] Q20 and Q30 both have excellent sound and comfort. Both connected and reconnected easily (note some computer hardware/software may have minor connection issues) Sound tested with YouTube headphone test videos and several music genres. My primary use with headphones is computer Windows, including on planes. So connectivity and access to features with Windows is prime for me. So Q30 features not accessible via Windows limits full feature; but if NC is in plane mode and default equalizer is all I need. --- --- 2 sets. Worked with Manufacturer. Manufacturer states at full charge a steady blue LED. Neither set worked that way. Red LED during charging, no LED at full charge and still plugged in. When connected no LED indication (usually slow blink); Manufacturer said it should slow blink. NC was weird. Heard no difference in sound quality (no compression) when NC on but it definitely limited the low frequencies. But noticed that the volume went up by 1/4 to 1/3. So some of the NC was gained by increasing volume. Other sets NC volume was the same NC on/off but the low aircraft type frequencies cancelled. Would say less NC then other headphones in this price range. Now the good: Sound quality very good. Tested on several music genres and sci-fi movies. The ambient space noise/sound was very good and put you in the scene. My old ears clearly heard 25Hz to 15KHz with YouTube test videos and passed all the tests of several test videos used. They felt very comfortable with my old guy glasses and would be able to wear them all day with the usual breaks every 60-90 minutes for a minute or two. Was close to keeping them due to sound quality and comfort. Decided no go due to the LED issue and subpar NC. They were aimed for my travels on airplanes and in noisy environment on the road. LED issue may cause battery to be left on since there is no indication of 'on' when connected. NC is main feature of travel headphones. The manufacturer and I traded many emails on LED and other connectivity issues. They were 'iffy' connecting to main computer, but no issues on the travel laptop. [note: many other headphone reviews mentioned connectivity non uniform across all computers, so more of a computer hardware/software issue in my opinion] So both the original set and 2nd set going back. Others may find the mentioned issues less important.

Opened them up, put them on and haven’t taken them off in two hours. Came with half battery power availability and connected to my phone plus computer simply. First noise canceling headphones so I can’t compare to others but I am happy with the cost, sound, speed of delivery and build quality. I made a phone call to my mom because she is a great judge of phone call quality and loves to chat. She said I sounded great so take it for what it’s worth. Bottom line call your mom or dad or a loved one just for the sake of it. I have walked around my house and haven’t lost connection yet. I ordered the Q20 with the case and glad I did as it makes everything feel premium, clean and organized. Only complaint is the micro usb included charger. No means a deal breaker but just a feel of inconvenience as this is an outdated tech and something extra to carry/plug in. I understand the Q30 have the usb-c but then I’m getting into uncomfortable cost zone, abandoning why I bought the h20 in the fist place (yard work). Concerning bass per other reviews, I don’t feel these are really bass heavy like they claim, just enough. So far so good.

I would like to say that I am an audiophile but I am not. Having said that, I would say these are the best headphones I have ever owned. I bought them on a whim because they were on sale and I’m a big fan of Anker products. While the noise canceling is not the best I have ever used, it’s decent enough for my usage. The sound quality is great though. It has enough bass without being overwhelming and the mids and highs seem pretty good to me as well. When I first received them I wasn’t too sure about the sound quality. I don’t use headphones that much so I wasn’t willing to spend a lot of money on Sony or Bose. I tried them out a little bit on some music as well as some gaming and thought they were decent. Once I gave them another test and compared them to a similar set of headphones from another company in the same price range is when they really stood out. The other pair of headphones on it hollow and lacking in all areas of the audio range. I truly appreciate these headphones now. Maybe Bose and Sony are better. They should be for the price. I think these are a great pair of headphones for most people though. Nobody should have to spend several hundred dollars for headphones. One other critique is don’t even try with the BassUp feature. It seems pointless to me. All it really does to my ears is make the bass sound different. I don’t feel like it boosts it at all. It just sounds weird after turning it on. It also includes an excellent hard shell case for storage.
