Louisville Slugger MLBM9 Maple Youth Baseball Bat

My 13 year old wanted a wood bat, mostly to use in batting practice. I was the pessimist, assuring him it would be a waste of money because it would break sooner or later. Well to my surprise, it's still in good shape. He's taken a few on the handle, (yes, just BP speed pitching) but other than a lil sting, it's still intact.The most positive thing, which he doesn't quite grasp is that because it's a lot heavier than his normal 31 inch aluminum game bat, he's increased his strength and bat speed. So it has increased his pop...and nothing beats the "CRACK" sound of a wood bat striking a baseball cleanly.I still feel that one good fastball on the inside, it'll be over....but enjoying the ride until that day. Got our money's worth.

This bat is being used by my eleven year old who is playing selected baseball. They use wood bats in their winter work outs in the cages so they can work on finding the sweet spot on the bat. The sweet spot on a wood bat is smaller then on an aluminum bat, so when they get back outside and start swinging metal again, they will have a better grasp on their batting fundamentals. Thus far this bat was been a real work horse. It has taken a beating and show no signs of cracking or breaking. When the boys are in the cages, the machine throws hard and once a week you hear one of the wood bats crack and fail. The way this bat is made and is taking the heavy wear, I think it will easily last this season. The price of the bat was great and it was well packed and shipped fast. Will buy a bat from them again next year.

I bought this to have for my players in soft toss as well as proving a heavier bat to swing at times. I like my players to use a wood bat when they can to teach them to hit the ball more consistently on the sweet spot. This bat will do that and being maple it should have a little more durability. Not confident I'll put this to use in live batting practice but am definitely going to put to use all season long. Very happy with my purchase.

My 12 year old son plays on a traveling team and he likes the feel of a wood bat. I had purchased a couple of bats for him but he broke them in just a couple of weeks. I purchased this bat and it has held up well but ours weighed in at 27.7 ounces. That is pretty heavy for a youth to swing. We have gone back to the other bats and will just have to keep buying them...

The bat came in a box that was way to big for it. Not wrapped at all so I imagine it was bumping around while it shipped. I also paid $31.45 for it and it arrived with a sticker with a price of $24.95. It also several additional stickers on it which were difficult to remove. The bat itself seems okay other than the above mentioned issues.

Not a whole lot to say. Good piece of wood with nice color. The stain on the barrel discolors pretty quickly after use (or I would have given 5 stars), but most ball players aren't going to care about that. Good quality stick.

Bought for 8 year old machine pitch. He played with it in 2 games and 1 practice before the handle cracked. I heard it crack when he hit the last ball. I know wooden bats can break but I'm surprised an 8 year old can do it in 20 hits or less. The bat looks new still but is scrap. ;-(

Bought this for my 11 yr old son for a wooden bat tournament. He absolutely loves this bat! My son is small for his age and this is not super heavy like some wood bats. He did excellent in the tournament and uses it at practice regularly because he just likes the feel of it. Very happy we bought this :)
