Ugly Stik Bigwater Spinning Fishing Rod

I bought the medium power 6'6. Very nice rod. Its my favorite one out of all my other rods. Its stiff and strong.

WOW! is all I can say. The rod and the customer service is awesome.

Took this to the beach on Jekyll Island to try it out. It performed well. I could tell that my casts were going farther than I was getting out of my 10ft rods. Also hooked into a couple of decent sized sharks with it. The action was good while maintaining control during the fight.Would definitely recommend.

This is such an awesome Rod. It’s lightweight and very, very strong.

Had These for a few weeks now. Had a chance to put them through the wringer.Pros:-Excellent value: I paid over $100 for a comparable Penn rod that in my opinion is not better.-Rod is sturdy. I wing 6oz Sputnik sinkers with whole finger mullet, rod handles it no problem.-great casting distance with 7500lc Penn.-tip is sensitive enough to see light bites, but rod is sturdy enough to battle huge fish. I have a 12’ Penn rod that is too stiff, which often causes me to miss light bites or reel in whiting I have had hooked forever and are dead when I reel in to check baits, never knowing they are there. The uglystick does not suffer this flaw.Cons:-only real complaint I have is the distance between grips on the pole. The distance is great if you want to wing a bait as far as you can without much concern of accuracy. However, when you are trying to do a more controlled cast, it’s too much distance between the grips. In addition, since there is polished blank Between the grips, choking up isn’t an option. When the blank is wet, it’s like trying to hold onto a wet fish if you try to choke up. You can feel your hand struggle to stay on the pole and control is impossible. Aesthetically pleasing as this look is, running the grip the whole length would alleviate this issue.-grip is slightly too fat for rod holders in my cart. Pulls the rubber rings off the top. Small potatoes, though.

Easy to use

Good rod, 15ft. long two piece. I like the ugly stick because it doesn't have porcelain eyes. The eyes want came apart, like so many others. Ps I also have two 11ft. rods , two piece.very well made.

Have always used these "Ugly Stik Rods" with good success for saltwater fishing. GREAT RODS!! I was Shocked to see that this rod was shipped in a plastic sleeve...zero protection!! 3 of 6 line guides were bent out of alignment. I sure hope Amazon will address this lack of shipping protection for items like fishing rods in the future. Simply kept the rod to avoid the return hassles...chances are the second rod would have been be shipped in the same manner.
