A Nice Small Dashcam Easy to Install
The media could not be loaded. The DDPAI Z40 Dual Car Dash Cam 2.4" is a nice compact unit. I especially like it because it is small enough that it can fit high on the windshield making it hard to see from outside the car. The Z40 is dual channel and comes with both a front and rear camera. The front can be set to 1944P or 1080P. The rear camera is set to 1080P. The wires were very easy to hide and it comes with a tool to help you pry the trim apart or the headliner back as necessary. The unit comes with a USB C power cable that fits into an adapter which plugs into a cigarette lighter. The camera has built-in WIFI which allows you to download videos or pictures to your smart phone. There is an DDPAI App which takes a little practice but it makes it easy to download any clip you want. You can also setup and make changes to the camera via the app. There is no easy way to take a picture as you are driving. You can go back into the saved clip via WIFI and find the view you want and capture a picture of it. The camera supports up to a 128 GB microSD card which offers more than enough storage for videos and pictures. The camera also has a 24 hour parking mode which you can turn on or off. It also comes with a G-sensor that will automatically take an emergency video and lock it for future use. This version of the camera does not include GPS. You do not get speed, location or direction which would have been a nice addition.I found the quality of the clips were excellent for both day and night. I have really enjoyed using this camera and highly recommend it if you do not need the GPS function.

Pretty solid camera
This is a pretty solid dash cam. I purchased this after having bad luck with another one. This one works much better, though I have had a few times where the video will not load in the app.

Stopped working after 1 day!
Easy installation but app was a bit difficult with the wifi. After spending ALL that time setting up and installing, the very next day I started the car and the dashcam never worked again. We did all the troubleshooting, reset, watched videos, etc. Something must have fried internally but very frustrating. Returned within the next few days.

Simple installation, decent camera
I would have written this review a month ago, but as it turned out my car went into the shop when I placed this order, and it's been there ever since waiting on a hard-to-get part. I finally just broke down and installed this in my daughter's car instead, since she needs a dash camera anyway.Installing the cameras was easy enough; You just stick them in place. Hiding the wires was a bit more effort, but nothing too big. The difficulty here is really more dependent on your vehicle, and how easy it it to snake wires along into the panel seams. Once everything is in place, it's easy to get the camera up and running. It did take a bit to figure out the app, but that's probably more a reflection on me getting old than anything else. The front camera has a small LCD display to show you what it's recording; it automatically starts recording when you start the car. It greets you with a voice to let you know it's started. You can switch viewing modes, and you can pull up the view on your phone as well. You can use the app to transfer files, or you can just pull out the micro-SD card (not included) and transfer files that way. All in all, this seems like a decent camera system that's easy to use.

Only works with rear camera installed
The media could not be loaded. I had gotten this just days before i was leaving on a week long road trip in April. Knowing i'd be on some of the nicest, curviest roads, i figured this would be the best time to finally run a dash cam.Yeah, i know i bought the "DUAL car dash cam", but thought maybe i could make the rear later. Time was an issue for running the rear and the fact that i have a graphic on the rear window; still not sure how to work around that. So, i tucked in the power cord, got it mounted in place and Tried to go for a test drive with it. I never left the driveway as Every 5 Seconds, a warning message (no clue what it's saying) keeps repeating. Crazy thing, it's a different voice than the menu voice. I tried everything to try and figure it out and the in the video, that is the volume at it's lowest. The instruction manual was no help with this (that was after i scanned, enlarged and reprinted it so i could read it). I grabbed the rear camera, plugged it in and it did finally shut up.I can say, the image was good. I did add the 128Gb card to it and the dash cam itself is basically plug and play; so minimum headaches, as long as you plug in the rear camera.1400 miles driven in my trip, there was no way i was gonna listen to that every 5 seconds.I figure my only work around, is to have the camera look out the rear side, but just don't know if i want to mess with it

Worth the purchase
Only difficult part is to connect to your phone, other than that Picture quality is good

missing some recording,
I don’t know if it is the firmware or what, but this is pretty unsettling to have video footage missing.

App could not be set up, completely wasting the camera
Could not get the app set up on any mobile os (Apple or Android) causing the camera to constantly request set up while powered on.
