Well designed, perfect fit. Gives two cold shoe mounts to add lights or other accessories. There is easy access to the batter door and unlike the GOPRO media mod case, you can change memory cards and batteries without removing the case. The unit comes with a battery door allowing charging access or provides a usb port for the GOPROaudio connection. Unfortunately you can’t charge and. Attach the audio at the same time as both use the same single usb port. The clip on audio connection holder works very well however, I found that without the GOPRO audio unit, keeping the case on the GOPRO, TENDS TO AFFECT THE AUDIO QUALITY OF THE ON BOARD GOPRO built in mic, it produces strange results.

I like this Gopro SmallRig cage more than the Gopro Media Mod cage. Unlike the Media Mod, you don't have to remove the cage to replace battery. SmallRig must have re-design the battery door for easy removal. My Gopro 13 fits into this cage snugly. The camera has not overheated on me yet, but then I don't shoot more than 15 minutes at a time and always outdoor. I can always remove the battery door if the camera gets too hot.

The SmallRig is awesome. I have the GoPro hero 10 and it fits perfectly around. It holds the audio adapter very well. This item is so beneficial for the GoPro and the price is amazing too.

It works to house your GoPro audio adapter, gives it a nice slot to rest into... One issue is on hot days it doesn't give the GoPro much room to breathe which is already a bit of an issue. Cold shoe mount is a nice touch and it's easy enough to access battery door while the case is on the camera. Overall pretty good.

After watching a utube review I decided to purchase this item. I was having as issue of overheating. The utube reviewer indicated that the light weight aluminum construction would help dissipate heat. The design allows me to mount an external light and microphone. Build seems good, trying out tomorrow for off road filming.

Works well to hold accessories such as a light or a microphone. It also protects the GoPro, so I leave it on the camera even when I'm not using accessories. I don't like having the little box to place the wireless microphone adaptor as it rattles around, so I used velcro to keep the microphone adaptor attached to the GoPro mount.

I take tripod photos a lot and this device helps with that. It allows me to swap it in and out while leaving it attached t the tripod to replace the batteries. There was one time I inserted the GoPro backwards and almost could not get the GoPro out of the SmallRig. That's user error though and it has clear enough indicators how to slide in the GoPro. It took some getting used to snapping the audio attachment device on the bottom. I don't think I could use my GoPro without this now so I have to give it five stars.

Smallrig really dropped the ball with this one. I was really disappointed with the sole fact the entire frame and mic adapter holder is PLASTIC. The plastic being molded to look like metal is very deceiving. It is disheartening considering I have multiple METAL smallrig frames and accessories on my Dslr, Gimbal, and cinema camera. They have the ability and means to make this all metal but for whatever reason, chose not to. It doesn’t even feel like good plastic to be honest. Being plastic normally wouldn’t bother me but the hero 10s and 11 actually physically improve with their functioning since metal essentially makes the cage a heatsink, allowing it to keep cooler and record longer. If this cage came out as a metal version, I would buy it immediately. But unfortunately, I’m returning this and opted for a Ulanzi G9-14 case which is similar. (Smallrig, if you’re reading this, as a very loyal customer, if you make a metal version of this, please add a 1/4 screw mount and the gopro mounting optional to the bottom. That is the only thing I would change on the otherwise great design.)
