Just a battery holder with a couple of spade terminals crimped onto it. Back when there was a Radio Shack in every town, making this up yourself would have been fast and cheap. However, those days are gone and this one gets it done for a bit more for delivery to your door.

Used for fireplace
The one we had was not working anymore. Did not know if I would gone this on Amazon and there it was. Got it here and very easy to connect and worked just like the original. Good stuff.
