Optrel Swiss Air Complete Respiratory Protection System with Control Panel - 4700.010

I've had this thing for about a week now, using it every day to weld, grind and cut. At this point, I can't imagine how I've lived without it. The battery lasts more than all day. And best of all, I can't smell any grinding dust or weld bits. Let's me concentrate on what I'm doing instead of constantly futzing with a respirator, holding my breath, thinking I can get away with this one cut / grind / weld without my protective gear.. .. . I also just turn it on and leave it on the whole day. The plastic is alittle bit flimsy, but that also makes it light. I can also buy replacement parts if the hose or the mask or something breaks. I hope it lasts a long time. If it lasts a year at least, I'd likely buy another one if this one breaks.

I make recycled art and use a plasma cutter. I was looking for a respirator that was comfortable under my helmet and not restricting breathing. Added to review 12/5/22 Does anyone else have an issue with the 4800.400 main filters plugging after 30 hours of cut time? I’m about to order another set of 2/$39. So this will be 4th and 5th main filter purchased. I replace the pre filter before cutting. I think read this filter will need to be changed every 6 months. I’ll go back and refer to my manual on that. 10/10/22 I’ve used it twice and this piece broke off in my hand when I slid it to change the filter. Hopefully they replace it.

I can't say enough good things about this PAPR. Other reviewers gave this a negative review based on the battery tab being easily broken. The filter has the same latch mechanism. It is light weight and looks like it can be broken easily. IF you have this knowledge it's not an issue because you will be careful. This item cannot be returned...I suggest you use care when disconnecting the battery or filter. Also, I would stock up on the pre filters. Its much cheaper to dirty the pre filter instead of the $45 carbon filter.

Good air but the delicate plastic pieces that break off in key locations ruin this thing. Especially for the price which I believe is technically fourteen hundred on this model. I mean the battery life is amazing, running all day and losing one bar on its indicator, and the protection is very good. It's Pretty disappointing in my opinion. I'd never recommend the product to someone. But I'd definitely recommend papr in general for anyone welding. Which I use this for. Unfortunately papr gear is hilariously overpriced always being around two grand and having extremely overpriced replacement parts such as two hundred to four hundred dollar basic batteries. So this is currently the cheapest you can get at the moment.

Purchased this unit brand new and unfortunately it did not fit my face. I literally took the facemask out of the box and did not unbox anything else. Being a smaller person, the unit was much too large for my face. So I went to return the item and apparently hidden in the Amazon details was that the item was NOT RETURNABLE. This is deceptive and really on an item of this cost, a little leeway should be allowed as its very much like clothing, if something does not fit the purchaser, its useless to them. On an item over $1,100, this is inexcusable. No other retailer of this system has a NO RETURNS policy. BUYER BEWARE!!
