Cooks well!
First I will say that this rocket stove if Fun! I took it out of the box and put it together right away. Then took it out and cooked some very thick hamburgers in a cast iron skillet. I was expecting it to get too hot or cool down to much, but it did not. It cooked the burgers perfectly and without burning. All I used to cook were twigs, most of which were very thin. I would add a few twigs here and there, but it did not take much effort. I have since cooked a hotdog, and have fried an egg. Both turned out great. The stove had some rust inside the tube, but nothing to complain about. The stove is not beautiful, but it seems to be put together well, with good welds, so I feel it will last many years. I plan to try cooking many different things to see how it does, but so far it is really nice to be able to cook things using just skicks and twigs from the yard, and I do have a lot of those. Smile!

Excellent Stove! Get it already.
The package arrived with a "Heavy" label on it, but it wasn't at all. The pieces of the stove were stored in the chimney of the rocket stove. It contained a tong, fire poker, legs, and grate leaves for the top of the chimney. Assembly took no more than 10 minutes which involved screwing in the legs and attaching the fuel lid handle. My first attempt at using the stove was when I used a torch and lit the scraps of wood. It took a little longer so the next time I used it I used a fire starter which worked a heck of a lot better and took less than 30 seconds. The stove took very little time to reach high temperatures. I used the fuel lid and the air vent to control the heat. It took very little pieces of wood to heat the eggs. I am so impressed with this stove that I ended up asking friends over to demonstrate it. They love it as well. Highly recommended!

Nice stove but tongs arrived damaged
I like the stove but the tongs arrived damaged and I don’t see a way to contact the company to get the tongs replaced.

I like this stove
I really like this little stove. I use it very often outside my front porch. I got the King-sized version and very happy I got the largest version. I like that it only requires a few twigs and wood pieces to get started. You can use dry twigs, branches, trunks, or even traditional firewood, which you may have to split with a hand axe, to make them thinner. Another tip is to coat your wood with kerosene for a faster start and a longer sustained burn. If you use the wood chute, the wood burns quickly and hot, so you will need to tend to it often by pushing the wood further into the chute. If you want less tending and longer burn times, a tip is to stuff wood in the vertical pipe area. I have poured handfulls of charcoal, and lump coal, into the vertical chute, while the stove is already burning, and that charcoal maintains radiant heat well, although its not as hot of a flame for cooking as compared to wood sticks. It's a pleasure to cook on and will cook an entrée or you can boil water. I have used black cast iron, enameled cast iron, and a 16 inch metal wok. Use a hammer or mallet to hammer down the pot support flanges so they don't shift so easily and are more stable for cooking heavier pots.

You're gonna use this
I looked at many styles of rocket stoves and this one caught my eye......definitely not for back packing but would be great for car camping as well as cooking out on the deck along with something on the grill.....welded construction.....very sturdy.....easy to use.....you can be cooking in minutes.....for the price....hard to beat

A good camping stove.
This is not a rocket stove. It's shaped like it but to the modifications to the design... It's not. Pros: it's a camping stove It's small enough to carry camping. It works for cooking. It will not melt your cooking pot. Sturdy. The air intake can be controlled. It's a good build for a camping stove. Cannot exceed cooking temps. Cons: not a rocket stove. Will not melt your aluminum pot. Hole on the back side limits the temperature. The flue is short. Not a rocket stove. Though this is not a real rocket stove... This is a good camping stove to give your boy scout. It's safe enough.

Best stove for the money
This this is amazing! Built and bought a couple rocket stoves in my time and this thing takes the cake! Lights fast and is the most efficient stove I have found so far, minimal sticks required and easy to control flame with damper control. Easy to use and clean as well. Flame gets hot enought to boil rice dish all in one meal and done in 20 mins or so! The one down side is the pot if heavy and large is a little tricky centering on the posts above the stove. The stove comes with adjustable feet to help with an uneven ground and they give u a small poker to move your sticks.

I've used this sturdy little rocket stove nearly every day for the past month, and love the design. It burns clean and hot, and I've cooked a number of meals, plus lots of hot chocolate and popcorn, on the included cooking... Fins perhaps? The poker is a welcome addition, though the tongs are pretty flimsy, but they are basically free gifts with purchase, so this is not a complaint. Highly recommended.

It's a very well built and designed rocket camping stove. Right off the top those "salad tongs" are pretty flimsy and useless. I'm can't really imagine a situation that I would use them anyway. The separate feeder chute and adjustable damper is a great design. You can open it up for an intense heat or close it down for a lower flame. Also it doesn't drop the ashes on the ground; it contains them which is great if you are concerned about accidental fires. Not the sort of thing for a backpacker who might prefer a collapsible unit. Now this doesn't throw heat like a campfire would. This is a very efficient stove just for boiling water or cooking.
