I need a new spare tire carrier for my boat trailer. This seemed to fit the bill. It arrived properly packaged, undamaged, with all the parts. I can’t say much about the instructions; I didn’t read them. The product photo was sufficient to install the carrier. I mounted a 14” wheel to it with no problem. I wish it had some bolt keepers that would hold the bolts in place while mounting the spare. At 70 I had a bit of a problem pushing the bolt out while mounting the spare. A third hand would have been nice.

This is essentially the same spare tire mount that is sold under many brands. If it looks the same you can bet it is. The weld quality looks good but cant say how good since its powder coated. Assuming good penetration this should hold a full size spare just fine. The hardware is grade 5 and that should be good enough. Use better quality flat washers and lock washers (cheap chinese ones supplied). The lock mechanism is a mystery until you see it in person. The brackets are designed to thread onto the wheel mounting studs after the wheel is attached with the supplied lug nuts. Once you have threaded both brackets on you can install a lock. It will only deter snatch and grab thieves unless you do something to prevent the entire assembly from being unbolted from the trailer. You can weld it to the trailer or you can weld the nuts to the bolts. As for the warning paper that was in the box? Its being recycled by now...

Don't be afraid of the cheap price, very heavy duty , well built and solid

Used on small utility trailer to attach spare on wooden front of trailer above tongue. Good paint quality and finishing. Plenty of holes to adjust position for various attachment locations. Quality hardware intended to attach to metal trailer frame. The carriage bolts which attach wheel to carrier come with flat washer, lock washer, lug nut and then locking threaded bar sections. By using lug nuts to attach the wheel to the carrier, they assure you will be able to remove them later when using lug wrench. Perfect for my need eliminating rattles and risk of hitting tire when jackknifing trailer in tight spaces.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great $12 buy. Would have given 5 stars but package was missing the 2 pieces to lock tire 9n as advertised. Other than that good and solid

Ordered this for my trailer after realizing I didn't have a spare tire. Other stores have the same carrier priced way higher and couldn't pass this up. For a few dollars extra I got the locking carrier. When I went to install the carrier I found it was missing the locking pieces. Got into contact with Customer Service and after verifying my purchase they quicking sent the missing parts. The carrier is made of sturdy metal and was easy to mount to the trailer frame. Don't hesitate to purchase this item if you are looking at it.

This spare tire holder was a breeze to install. I always use a little blue loctite on any bolts or fasteners for things that are on the road to prevent things loosening up over time. I had a spare pad lock so this approach was a low investment, but of good value. Matches the other components on my trailer and does not look cheap at all. Be careful not to overtighten the bolts as the metal did bend a little from one bolt being overtightened. I had to unassemble and get it back to square only because of aesthetics. I would recommend this for anyone with a trailer with room to spare, no pun.
