Aprilaire 12 Water Panel Single Pack for Humidifier Models 112, 224, 225, 440, 445, 448

I like the instruction of properly installing the Aprilair panel.

After living in my new house for over a year we discovered the humidifier had been off, so we turned it on to help fight the dry winter air. A few hours later we noticed water leaking from our older Aprilaire 224 unit. This started the project of me figuring out what the problem was, having to rebuild leaky copper compression fittings at sealing the drainage on the unit itself. Since I had no idea if the previous homeowners did any sort of maintenance on the unit I figured it was long overdue for a new water panel. I ordered this as it’s listed to fit my model 224 and it fit perfectly. Install of the water panel was the easiest part of my unit repair. Now my humidifier is running like a dream and adding needed moisture back into the house. Will repeat buy as the suggested replacement schedule is yearly.

Expensive compared to others, I am hoping for this panel will improve humidifying. A little disappointed to find one corner had a defect, where the metal was not consistent. There was no damage to the carton, so it was packed with a visible defect. Being more expensive, you would expect 100% quality in the box. This panel replaced a recent Best-air unit that leached its clay coating causing the drain of my humidifier to clog and overflow into my furnace. I will monitor this OEM panel to observe its performance.

I built a humidifier for my huge humidor using a 6" deep full size restaurant pan and lid. It utilizes three 4" fans and a ultrasonic fogger inside. But I needed a baffle after the fogger and before the exhaust. This "panel" was the perfect size when cut in half. I siliconed some supports in place and now this baffle can be replace in minutes. Now I get humidity and not mist out of my humidifier.
