Perfect! Holds rug firmly in place. No tripping over rug edge anymore. No bunching. The other mat I had was too thick and this is GREAT!

At first I shied away from this because of the "Ninja" name... I don't know why, but I assumed it would be a "cheesy" knock off. Then we ordered a high priced one and were appalled at what arrived. We bough two other brands that cost 3x more and one that was almost 4x more - and the Ninja from Amazon at the same time to compare. The Ninja blew the others away. We needed something good on engineered hardwood - that wouldn't stick but still wouldn't slide. This was perfect. It's very thin... which is part of why I shied away from it at first. However, it works better than one that was almost twice as thick that bragged about it's ability to "hold firm" and slid all over the place as my dogs raced over the rug. Dogs - key factor for us. They run around and this thing doesn't budge. Moving the rug and this pad are easy peasy for vacuuming. Laying it down and throwing the rug over it doesn't always work so well... it does tend to move a bit - BUT it takes very little effort to lay it down and roll your rug out over it perfectly. I LOVE that I was able to trim it easily with a basic household scissor - this helped me make it about 4" smaller than the perimeter of the rugs.... (8x10 and 5x5) and have an even easier time with getting the rug/pad back where they belong after vacuuming or cleaning the floor. Not that I welcome wrinkles... but it's so perfectly thin that when under a good quality, thick rug if there happens to be a little wrinkle when you put the rug back down - you won't know it. Even better is that when under a heavy rug (we have it under two thick Safavieh - this likely wouldn't work under a thin, lesser expensive rug) you can pull on it if there is a wrinkle and it will straighten out instead of just sliding all over the place. NOTE: most of them were like the foam liner you put in drawers.... very foamy and cushy. This is thinner and seems to have more of a "grip" to both sides. Not sticky - but just enough to hold to the floor and to hold to the rug. Bottom line - Ninja all the way. We just did a remodel and I'll be getting these for every rug we have yet to purchase.

Very sticky pad and I like it. It holds this flimsy wool rug that I bought in place and it doesn't move an inch. The only thing if it stunk really bad when I first got it. I put in under the rug thinking it wouldn't be too bad, but I was wrong. I took it out and put it in the garage for 2 days to air out and now it doesn't smell at all. Just be prepared. The smell DOES GO AWAY after 2 days of airing it out. I love this pad now!

The product itself appears well made, and is light and unobtrusive. Initial installment was super simple. It did seem to be working as our carpet would quite freely move around before, with the Gripper installed, it was not as easy to accidentally move around. However, the next morning, I saw that the carpet had been moved a couple of feet, just as it had every morning thanks to our cat. Later that day, we witnessed our cat pulling up the carpet trying to get at the Gripper pad in order to tear it up as she is prone to do. We wound up placing the couch legs over it to keep the carpet from being lifted and moved by the cat. Ironically, this seems to be a better solution to carpet movement that this product.

It does the job and keeps this old man from landing on his A**! That is priceless at an affordable price!

Almost didn’t buy this because of reviews from others saying it wouldn’t hold their rugs to the floor. I bought it for a new rug that we bought that is near our front entranceway . It’s in a main walking area and works great. Our young grandkids are over for every other wknd and they play a lot there, with our rug runner always sliding all over the place. Now that we put this underneath the rug, it’s finally staying in place. I should’ve bought this a couple years ago!

Holds the rug in place perfectly. Good quality material. Not as thick as carpet underlay, but works well.
