I am so incredibly happy with the EASYEAH Cooling Patches! These patches are a game-changer for quickly and effectively bringing down a temperature or just getting instant, soothing relief. I use these on myself, but they are small enough for a child. They are super cold at first but they warm up after about an hour. They do have a slight scent to them, but not overpowering.

These are effective at making my skin feel cold; good for pain/discomfort relief They don't do too much to reduce core body temperature, though; a wet lukewarm cooling cloth would work better for that. The cooling sensation comes from the menthol and borneol "false-flagging" a cold feeling to receptors in your skin, similar to the "icy" part of IcyHot. They do provide some evaporative cooling, though, in the form of water and glycerin in the hydrogel -- it works sort of like a long-term artificial sweat. It shouldn't be used if you're already sweating; the gel will have trouble sticking and you may make a mess. Be careful to ensure this does not get in your or your child's eyes (they should be old enough that they'll listen when you tell them not to stick their fingers in the gel)! After use, where the gel stuck to should be gently wiped clean, again to ensure it doesn't get in someone's eyes. If it does get in the eyes, just flush thoroughly (gently) with lukewarm water and try not to touch or rub it; it's not poisonous and won't result in long-term vision loss by itself (it's just the rubbing/touching that's the risk).

It has a mint scent. Very gooey at first. I get hot flashes and wear one of these every night and they work great. After having used these every night for several months my forehead is very smooth. As time goes on the gooey dries up and it will fall off on its own. I’ve worn them on my arm too during the day. My body temperature is too high for me to wear on my forehead during the day, it will slide off. Kind of like melting from my heat.

I bought these as a cheaper alternative to the fever cool or whatever they're called that we have in our local store. While these work the same, they smell horrific. It's a very strong herbal/medicinal smell. I deal with chronic pain so I have used a lot of rubs and creams for the pain, so I'm fairly used to strong smells but this is so overpowering. They work, so they get the stars, but they smell so bad I don't know that we'll ever actually use them, so...

So far so good my wife's like the smell and is great for the kids

These patches have been very useful for my baby's fever; I prefer them to any other medication.
