Works great with the latest Windows 10 update. (10/2019)
I purchased the reader a month ago to discover that it did not work. I emailed them and they helped me troubleshoot and ultimately sent me a brand new one which did not work either. A few days after I received the second one a widows 10 update hit and the reader worked perfectly. Now I use it exclusively to login to my PC and it is very fast and accurate. Tech support was very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend this product.

Not reliable
Purchased this in 2016 to evaluate for using with several Windows 10 Pro workstations for signing in with Windows Hello. While it did work occasionally, it proved inconsistent. Sometimes it would take multiples tries (multiple scans), which took more time than typing in a user name and password. Other times, it simply would not read a fingerprint no matter how many times I tried. The company support was unable to resolve the issue. Interestingly, the Director of Digital Marketing contacted me to follow up (in 2017), but never responded with a compelling reason to keep trying the device. Also, at one point the company website stated that a fix was forthcoming in a Windows update. I gave up waiting and stored the device in my desk drawer. Well, here it is 2020 and the there have been many Windows 10 updates since that time. The update message is no longer on the company website, so I pulled the device out of the desk drawer and tried it again. Nope. Same problem. the system suggests cleaning the scanner, but that makes no difference. Was the failure unique to unit I had? Maybe, but the company did not seem to think the problem was significant enough to replace it. As it turns out, there was a tacit acknowledgment by the company's support that the device does not always work. I give up. But it is a real shame, because the device promised to be very helpful. Apparently a few other purchasers have had more success on their systems, but my unit did not like any of the systems in my office.

Finally! Fast and reliable, while being kind to your wallet.
Works great out of the box on Windows 10. No need for other software as Windows handles all of your fingerprints. They finally made a fingerprint reader that doesn't utilize the swipe method. This is like your iphone touch id or samsung s6 or s7 fingerprint reader where you just place it and it signs you in. And this also works with Lastpass. You need to install some extensions but if you have "Require Password Reprompt" enabled for any of your sign-ins, now all you have to do is place your finger on this reader.Few highlights and use case scenarios:-Highly recommended. I can definitely see the use of this reader in the business setting. No more cards or memorizing log-ins and changing passwords every few months. Fingerprints are extremely secure, reliable, and convenient.-Working in a hospital and clinic setting, healthcare workers sign-in to many different computers and laptops throughout the day. Utilizing this method rather than a card or username and pw, this speeds up the process. You can make the password as long and complex as you want and have it to auto-change everyday/week/month/etc. All you have to do is remember to not chop off your hand :)-Speed: Very quick to fill in username and pw information. Signing-out and into different users on Windows was extremely easy and quick. It won't respond as quickly as the iphone 6s or 7 touch id sensors, but more along the lines of the 1st generation touch id sensors (iphone 5/5s)-Reliability: Windows only requires 2 or 3 scans of your fingerprint. I was concerned at first. I thought it wouldn't get the edges and tips of my fingerprint but the way the scanner is designed, it's hard the place your finger any other way than flat. The indention makes it easy to place your finger the same way every time. --Note: Works really well when your hands are clean. I put some flour on my fingers to mimic grime/dirt/residue. The scanner would come back with a "poor quality" message 50% of the time. Next, I tried it with damp fingers (not dripping wet, let's be real no one should be touching electronics with dripping wet hands). I received no error messages back. Overall for reliability, unless you're working in construction or any other job that might cause some grime on your hands, I would not worry about having to place your finger multiple times. It's just as reliable as the iphone 5/5s touch id, but not as quick or reliable as the iphone 6s/7tldr;; Great fingerprint reader. I am extremely glad someone has made a reliable, but also economical fingerprint reader. Other options with the swipe mechanism are available, but I have found them to be more of an annoyance than a convenience. And the ones with the "placing your finger" on the reader method are all ludicrously priced. Highly recommended! Looking forward to buying more for my business in the future.

Only ok reliability, but spend the extra $$$ on the Verifi P2000
It's a nice fingerprint scanner, but reliability is questionable. The first day I used it, it work flawlessly. After that, it was semi-reliable at best. Several times, it would not recognize the fingerprints until I had to enter my password. I ordered the Verifi P2000 at the same time and have not had a problem with that. It is slightly more expensive, but it is a little heavier so it won't move when you slide you finger across it. I swapped the computers that each was attached to and the results were the same. Go for the better product if it is a computer you use often.

I recommend
I’ve been using the fingerprint reader for about five months now and it still works fine. Ever since I received, it does require a small amount of pressure on the glass to result in a successful scam. I have only ever had to scan my finger two times. The second skin is always successful. But I majority of the time, it works on the first try. It does take about three seconds to unlock your system. A wonderful product at the price point and I would definitely recommend.
