Nite Ize SB234-03-11 S-Biner Carabiner, Assorted, Stainless

These are very handy little carabiner clips. I initially purchased a set of two Size #1 S-Biners as part of several different items I wanted to try out along with several other products in my search for the most suitable combination of rings and clips to organize my keys, and I've since added a selection of these S-Biners for various uses.What I've learned is that Nite Ize produces these S-Biners in various sizes and materials and finishes, each suitable for certain purposes. They're all well made, and in my opinion they are all a good value. I particularly like the locking models that are also available (see the models at the bottom of the listing below).This set of three S-Biners is a good way to try the most useful sizes and get them in a money saving package. So far I'm finding the #2 and #3 sizes to be the most useful. The #4 size is fairly large, and the #1 size (not included in this particular set) is quite small.After going through a mini research project of my own in order to both determine the relevant dimensions of the various sizes, as well as find the best listings for them on Amazon, here is a guide to simplify this process for others.IMPORTANT NOTES:- I've done my best to determine representative listings here on Amazon for each of these models. I used to use carabiners for a variety of things but S-Biners work much better in most cases. The problem with standard carabiner is that everything is attached to the same "loop." For example, If you have a set of keys, and maybe other items, and then attach that to a backpack. When you open the standard carabiner, to remove it from the backpack, your keys or anything on it can fall off if you're not careful. Because s-biner have two separate attachment areas, all of you loose items can remain securely attached to the s-biner when you unclip it from your backpack, belt loop or whatever.They seem very sturdy and I expect them to last a long time. It's very easy to clip and unclip things, even with one hand.This particular set is nice. You can use the small ones to attach a small key ring to your belt. The large one can be used to join two larger items together, such as attaching a small camera bag to another bag.The only downside with these is that they are more expensive that a carabiner. However, the extra cost is more than made up for by the convenience and ease of use.Try these, you won't go back to the standard carabiner.

I bought this because I had a common problem with my last carabiner, which resulted in me having to buy a new leatherman Squirt... twice. I attached it to my beltloop frequently, and every time I took it off or put it on, I risked losing one of the few precious items which it held. By having only one loop, the sheer act of clipping it on allowed items to fall off.I took my hunt to Amazon and without knowing what I was looking for, found this. I could not be more satisfied.I use the middle one (#3) on my belt loop for keys, a Squirt, and a USB drive. It feels just the right size there, or if anything it's a hair long. The small one was too small for this application as clipping & unclipping to my belt loop was a hassle.I also saw many other double-gated carabiners on Amazon which were made of plastic. I chose to steer clear because I don't trust plastic under heavy use -- I feel it's just a matter of time before it cracks. This metal construction is very sturdy and rigid, rated to 25 lbs. for #3.I see myself being very happy with this for a long time as it solves my original problem, appears very durable, and cost me close to nothing!

Solidly built S clips, the spring latch has crimped ends so they wont self disassemble, and it has good surface finish.The edges arent sharp, but they arent the most round either.

We use these to attach hats and shoes to bags. It's easy to use, and the double hook allows the carabiner to stay securely fastened to the bag while the other side allows for easy access to whatever we're attaching to it.

I have various Carabiners, all aluminum. They are light weight but some are not durable. The spring mechanisms would fail one way or the other. Aluminum does not rust but the tiny steel springs that close the gates would. Some springs would eventually lose tension also.These stainless S-Biners are the solution. The mechanism is simple, it uses torsion of the steel gates as springs. There are no additional tiny springs. Since these are made with all stainless-steel parts, I do not expect them to rust.I choose this 3-pack with different sizes as I do not know which size would fit my needs best. I could always buy some more of a specific size if I need more.I really like the small one (size 2). I use it on my cap. I do not wear hats indoors and taking them on and off presents an opportunity for me to lose it. I now just clip my hat to my backpack, computer bag, or even on my belt loops when I am in doors. The larger ones are used on my drinking bottles and hanging miscellaneous items. If you looking for a quality biner and do not know what size would fit, buy this 3-pack.
