The starting position of the pieces, when starting to play, should be as the product listing picture. To win / solve the game, you will need to slide the pieces around until the small ball, sitting in the large square is down the hole that lies at the far end of the course so the ball will roll down the hole built into the puzzle and out of the front.

Got this for our soccer playing grandson's 15th birthday. He and everyone else in the family loved it! We had to pry it out of each person's hands to share with the next. It is beautifully made and a great challenge for all ages. We bought the Setting Sun puzzle ahead of time for our older grandson's birthday coming up.

Hard to maneuver

The pieces and small metal ball fall out very easily, and it can be hard to maneuver the pieces because the wood catches on the edges.
