Bold Connect Bundle - SX-33 Bold Smart Lock Cylinder

The installation is straight forward and simple enough. Unscrew things to take out the original cylinder. Compare the sizes of the two and add an extension to the Smart Cylinder if necessary. Then set up the smart lock with bluetooth as outlined in print.The setup of the Connect gateway is also pain free. Nevertheless, there is one issue that a user must be reminded. The "Controller" setting must NOT be enabled to enable remote activation. This setting, I believe, is for the physical controller to buy separately. This is, however, not mentioned in the manual or website. When I found out I cannot remotely activate the lock, I wrote to the support. They get back to me within hours and advised about the setting that I must have done wrong!The Smart Cylinder itself looks strong and believed so.

Really easy to fit, just one screw, I open the lock with the phone ...you don't need to unlock to exit the door, and it works on my new multi point locking composite door which has a latch type lock which locks as soon as you close the door (similar to the traditional Yale type night latch ). you then can engage the deadlock with a couple of rotations of the internal or external handles. If you watch the promotional video you will see people walking in and out without using app. this appears to rely on GPS and you have to have moved over 200m away for a period before this works. have not set the pin yet, but this look simple to do. Overall a good experience upto now

This product is a premium product well made and very easy to install. The only issue I have with this is that the Bold CONNECT BRIDGE, keeps disconnecting from the wireless network, I do not know why this occurs but it is quite frustrating, hopefully this bug will be fixed with a software update. The price at of the device is slightly cheaper at Curry’s/ PC World. The battery life is very good as it does not have any motorised parts.

Very positive experience with NetXL via Amazon, and the product was of high quality, however it did not work for us. We have a slam shut type door, and even though I could open the door via the outside knob, my wife found it more difficult than the key, so returned only for this reason. Being smooth metal made it a little slippery to turn. Please remember that its the whole mechanism that we were trying to open and with wrist problems, and not just unlocking a door with handles which I'm sure this product is perfect for.

Worked well for about 13 months then stopped opening from the outside which makes it pretty useless. Luckily I left the back door unlocked which isn’t the safest thing to do. Will now try contacting bold for a refund as a lock that doesn’t open is no use to anyone.

Still experimenting with it. Was easy to install & set-up. Works well with phone accessing the house. It does not come with clickers for those without phones which are quite expensive so I am marking down on value for money . Only other confusing thing is I can activate it from 10 miles away but not from the other side of my house. The phone & connect on Wi-fi but it gives me a blue tooth connection error. For some reason it is trying to use Bluetooth rather than Wi-fi when Bluetooth is out of range. If you are not connected to Wi-fi it uses mobile signal- >internet - >connect -> lock

The media could not be loaded. I have had the bold smart lock for about 2 years now and I can tell you its a reliable smart and it is easy to install, however I have given up on this lock for the nuki 3.0, simply because the bold smart lock has zero smart home integration, I've spoken to customer services several times and they are always very helpful and to be fair they implemented a few of my suggestions but the smart home side keeps getting delayed and even if they do implement it, it will be very limited bearing in mind this lock isn't motorised and I doubt it could tell you if your door was locked or unlocked, unless of course you taught it know if its locked or unlocked.I would have thought bold would have upgraded this product by now a motorised version would be an amazing addition, sadly for now that seems like nothing more than a dream, 2 years and no updated version and it's only had one software update via the app in all that time, so I'm sorry bold but smart home integration is a must for smart home enthusiasts and the bold smart lock seriously lacks.....Edit: I also forgot to mention that in 2 years there has been only one software update for the lock and one update to the app, also I think for what the bold smart lock does it is over priced..
