Kikkerland Retro Alarm Clock – Vintage Decor for Bedroom, Nightstand, Living Room, or Office – Battery Operated, Decorative Analog Clock, Red

I purchased four of these little retro alarm clocks in red and blue to help my children be on time for school. This retro-style alarm clock is very vintage / retro chic just as the name implies. It indeed creates a nostalgic aesthetic and is perfect for the nightstand. What we love most about is it's compact size, (not too big or too small yet perfect for both children and adult hands), that the clock face features large, easy-to-read numbers, and the loud, classic beeping alarm sound, that is pleasant and not jarring. It also uses just a single AA battery, which does last for many months with daily use. What we were disappointed with was the glow in the dark feature. It is very, very mild and hard to detect in a dark room, making it impossible to read the time without turning on a light. One thing to note, is that It does not have a snooze function; which we like, as the goal of an alarm clock is to get us out of bed!😁 Overall we love it and highly recommend it! Grade A!

Looks: This is great looking clock, I got mine in blue but I'm sure that the other colors look great as well. It's got a nice retro look like advertised, and the color is precise to what you see on your monitor. The hands glow in the dark which is almost useless but still a cool thing to have. Performance: This clock is quiet and keeps time accurately. As for the alarm it can be a little bit iffy, but overall functions as should. Others: The clock takes only one AA battery, and will last for a while. The alarm is a somewhat quieter volume than others but has no trouble waking me up. The clock is very lightweight which could serve as a problem for many people when they fling there hand out to turn off the alarm. The alarm has no differentiation between AM or PM and will go off twice if not turned off. Lastly, there is not snooze function, how bad of a drawback that is really relies on the time of person buying the clock. Overall: This is an OK clock that does all the necessary things an alarm clock should but nothing more. I have it rated as a five because it does everything that I need it for. For people buying this wanting to use it as an alarm clock it is about a 3.5, but for people buying this as a small decorative clock that nicely fits a space it is a 5.

Decided to try this cute little clock, after having our last several alarm clocks start malfunctioning after a year of ownership. This clock is described as "retro" although it looks just like the cheap clocks that are still sold in drugstores, size, shape, clock face and hands are identical, only the coloring is different, as far as looks go. The back of the clock is just ridiculous. The knobs for setting time and the alarm are set in a recessed groove, and very hard to manipulate for older people or those with health issues like arthritis which affects your dexterity. Also the knobs are smaller than usual and hard to grip. My husband, who has a muscular dystrophy disease cannot set it at all. Then there's the alarm on/off, which is the largish button on top of the clock. To set the alarm, you push the button until it pops up, when the alarm goes off, you push it down. Seems simple enough, but it is very flimsy, and you have to push down repeatedly, or hard, and hold down for a few seconds to get the alarm to stop. There is no knob on the back where you turn the alarm function off, as with most alarm clocks, also there is no snooze. Lastly, the alarm itself is loud and shrill. Unless you really want a clock in these colors (which are cute, the only redeeming feature I can find with this clock), you can get a cheaper, plain version at your local drug store. Meanwhile, I am still on the lookout for a decent alarm clock that is well built, easy to operate, has snooze function with cascading beeps and under $100. If you know of one, please let me know in comments. Thanks! UPDATE: This clock has lasted less than a year. Today when I got home the alarm was raging away, even though the button was down meaning that it was not set. I turned it on and off to stop it, then it went off again a couple of minutes later. The alarm arm isn't even set to the time, but the thing would not stop with its annoying buzz. I tried a fresh battery, but it still buzzed nonstop. I had to remove the battery altogether and toss it. The clock didn't even make it past one battery. So, to whomever gave me a negative vote for my completely honest and accurate review...um...bite me. This thing is a piece of junk and I am lowering the star rating to one.

The look is great - quality is questionable. So far it keeps time just fine . I know everyone’s trying to save money when they manufacture something so when the second hand fell off, I wasn’t surprised. A little bit bummed but I don’t rely on the secondhand. It’s sort of annoying to watch it go around and around. But now it’s loose inside, but it falls to the bottom and is hardly noticeable. I suppose I could find a super small screwdriver and try to disassemble it to take out the secondhand or put it back on. I do love the numbers, they are easy to read, but they don’t look like they’re yelling at you . The color is very soothing, a wonderful green. I also bought a second one for near my bed. The other is in the bathroom and I bought a red one for my kitchen, but the red one arrived with a crack on The lens as the box was slightly crushed so I have to return it, but I ordered one right away because I love the style. It looks great from the side. I may even get a fourth one for my other bathroom. there is no sound as it runs… So it’s OK to have it near your bed

Good quality, nice looking desk clock, nice price. Only the hands are glow-in-the-dark, very faintly visible, the numbers are not, so is hard to tell the time in the dark. The return was smooth and satisfactory, no complaints. However the seller’s statement of rules regarding returns, I felt, was directed to all the dishonest customers he’s had, and it did not inspire this honest customer to want buy anything from him again.

I love the retro look and basically it works. But, the dial does not illuminate at night like advertised which is one of the reasons I purchased it.

I wasn't going to spend over £40 on a new alarm clock, but I saw this while searching for a wind up clock and fell in love with it. Overall, I'm very happy with it. It feels very solid and the alarm and wind up keys are big and easy to turn. The on/off alarm switch is on the side, so no more fiddling around the back of the clock. I was worried that I might sleep through the gentle cheeping of the alarm, but it has woken me up every time and it's fun to listen to it and to watch the feather quivering. My only problem with it - and the reason I've dropped off a star - is that I find the clock time setting and alarm time setting knobs very stiff and difficult to move. The knobs are quite small and grooved and my finger and thumb felt quite sore after gripping the grooves and wrestling the knobs into position. I have solved the problem by clipping a clothes peg onto the knobs and turning that instead. Much easier. I'm hoping that the knobs will ease up in time. This is a beautiful and quirky clock and and I look forward to many happy awakenings.
