It is a cheap instrument but It does the job, it is very sensitive if there are live cables around, helped me

I've been able to find stud walls with ease but electrical finding is hit and miss. Even when nowehere near electrical it beeps.Overall it's worth its money and it's easy to use.

I have in the past had a few stud finders all that found didn't do the job - but this one is simple to use, detects multiple devices and accurate, a reasonable price 10 out of 10 🙂

Where to start, this was awful.Stud wise, allegedly I have no studs in my timber framed new build house. Didn't matter what setting I used it found nothing. In fairness on one occasion it did beep but then never again on that same spot.Metal detection was equally as outstanding! (Full disclosure - this is sarcasm).Voltage detector mode is meant to be on all the time ... Much like my stud situation, yup you guessed it, I have no electrical cabling in my walls either! Even on dedicated voltage mode, nothing ... Not even directly above and below a double power socket.Luckily my mate had a reliable detector and I managed to get the job done!Do yourself a favour and save your money ... This was about as much use as a back pocket on a sock!

Very difficult to find studs with this I can never seem to use these things

These have come a long way in 10 years ~ this is simple, accurate and a reasonable price point. OK, you’ll only use is a few times if it’s DIY but it take the guessing out of finding stud-work. Makes hanging on a plasterboard wall much simpler.

Works ok for studs, but I would trust it for accurate cable finding
