Nearly as good as a private guide
Rick Steves Berlin was our primary guide for a great 4-day visit to Berlin. The book provides lots of useful practical information and details of specific sites are clear and meaningful. Purchase of the book also gives you access to his podcasts and walking tours, and these were as good as private tours. Don't count on the book to give you a long list of hotels and restaurants, but it does provide a good guide of neighborhoods that you can use to find an apartment or hotel on travel websites.

Excellent Guide Book
During our 5 day visit to Berlin this past April, it was the only Guidebook we used. We used public transportation to get around and took a couple of the walking tours described in the book. Also took a day trip to Potsdam.

So helpful
Used this while planning travel to Berlin and kept in my backpack while there. So helpful and explained so much about many of the areas. Definitely recommend if you plan on visiting Berlin. Handy map too!

Not in the best condition.
I paid $12.93 for this used book and it has a price tag on it for $5.99. Cover was bent over and multiple pages were written on. I’d say I was overcharged?…
