Great flux
Easy to use, stays where you put it on the board. Helpful for through hole work.

Chip Quik Solder Flux
The Chip Quik Solder Flux works fine, but it "burns" rather quickly. After a few seconds of applied heat, the flux seems to "scoot away" from the heat source and turn brown. Once it turns brown, it becomes very gummy and is difficult to remove either with hot soap and water OR denatured ethanol (ethyl alcohol). Amended review - December 2018 I have since gained more experience with this flux and I had some problems caused by my using it incorrectly. The problems I mentioned above were due to my applying too much heat too quickly. With a more careful (slower) application of heat, the flux works perfectly, leaves behind bright shiny solder joints and cleans up easily (which is not necessary since it's a "no clean" flux - but I do it anyway). Although this flux is part of Chip-Quik's "chip removal system", it also works fantastically well as an ordinary solder flux. The tiniest drop will hold an SMD part in place and leave behind nice, VERY shiny and fully flowed joints. One thing to watch out for is using this flux with IC sockets or pin sockets. The flux is SO good that it will allow the solder to wick all the way up into a socket and solder the springy part of the pins together. Hint: To make a piece of "solder wick" in a pinch (to remove excess solder from a joint), simply take a piece of shielding from a coaxial or audio cable, put a small spot of Chip-Kwik flux on it and "massage" it in with your fingers. You will find that it works even better than commercial solder wick!

Great stuff! Highly recommended
This flux works great! I bought two wii controllers on eBay that were not working and traced the problem to the bluetooth chips. The solder joints underneath had cracked, so I squirted some of this flux around it and covered everything else with foil then hit it with the heat gun for 40 sec or so until the flux started to bubble and zippy zap just like magic I had two functioning controllers! I've used this flux for a few other projects also and it flows good and makes nice joints. The applicator seems to be just the right size, not too big for some pretty fine work and not too small to get clogged up. I've had this for about two months and it seems to holding up well. Would definitely reccommend for anyone soldering or reworking surface mount components.

Easy soldering.
I purchased for soldering electrical circuit board connections. Solder flows well providing a good connection. I have also used for soldering brass detail parts to brass locomotives. This flux is the best, it is superior to paste or liquid rosin flux.

Fine flux but lots of bubbles that cause waste.
Works fine as flux but it does come with a bunch of bubbles that cause it to keep squirting out after you use it and set it down. I took a hair drier and melted it in the tube, then plugged the tip and pulled back on the plunger to create vacuum. The bubbles will then float to the top and pop for the most part and then you can push the air out the tip. Cost me about 20 minutes.

the perfect flux.
Makes solder flow smoothly and evenly.

Works great, no complaints!
This flux works very well, much better than the older paste style I had been using. Its somewhat sticky to help hold SMD parts in place when working with them, and cleans up easily with some alcohol. I wish I could pull back on the plunger to retract the flux from the syringe tip, or that there was a cap for the applicator tip, but this has not noticeably caused an issue in the soldering performance - only that I get a little flux such to things that touch the tip of the syringe from time to time. Will likely purchase again when I run out.
