Is the Geckone key finder compatible with your phone? For iPhone users: You need iOS 7.0 or higher. For Android users: You need Android 4.3 (with BLE 4.0) or higher. If you are not sure your smartphone supports BLE you should download a BLE checker from the app store, just to be on the safe side. The device uses BLE 4.0 technology, which is why it is a MUST for your phone to support Bluetooth 4.0.Since Android is open-source and every smartphone manufacturer can customize it, there are many Chinese brands with "unofficial" Android versions. If you have such a smartphone the application might be not compatible with it.Why doesn’t the device give a sound alert when it loses connection with the phone?- Stability - The Anti-lost alarm shouldn’t go off for no reason. We are sure that you'll be annoyed or frightened if the alarm goes off unexpectedly. If the key finder connection is lost when in very close range to the phone, the alarm won't go off, because there is no need to. Your keys are safe, most likely in your bag or pocket.- Power consumption - The buzzer of the device consumes most of its battery. Because the capacity of the CR2032 battery is limited we updated the initial design of the device and made two-way alerts! That means you get phone notifications instead of battery drain :) The anti-lost and theft alarm is not the only function in our device, it's just a part of it! The Geckone Key Finder can also help you find your misplaced items and be used as a remote shutter. Remember that morning when you were late for work because you couldn't find your keys or phone? What about when you wanted to take a group photo and were left out of it, because you had to press the shutter? If you do, the Geckone Key Finder is the perfect solution for you! :)

Nice remote finder
I have kids who constantly misplace the Roku remote (why do they make that darn remote so small?!). My husband has a brand name bluetooth locator for his keys but I wasn't about to shell out the same amount of money for a contraption that dies out after a year and I have to pay to replace it. I went searching for a similar item and found this one. I figured the price was right and it looked small enough that it would fit behind the roku remote with some tape or glue. Plus, you can replace the battery yourself! When I received the item, it was bigger than I anticipated and there was no way I could permanently attach it to the remote. I found a solution by instead using the included loop and attaching it to the remote at the bottom where the wrist strap is supposed to go. I love that an included battery replacement is sent with the remote. I mistook the battery as an indicator that I needed to install a battery before use, so I pop opened the locator to put the battery in only to find one already installed. I could get the two pieces to lock back together perfectly and it kept popping open. I had to use black electrical tape to keep it shut together. Hence, the four star review; I had to deduct one star for craftsmanship.Installing the app on your phone is easy. The directions leave something to be desired, but it's fairly simple. Download an app and pair the device to your phone. Once paired, you can then make the device beep very loudly so you can locate it. You can also locate the device by distance. It gives you a percentage estimator of how close you are the the device.I have already had to use this device this week when my kids lost the remote. So I can attest that it works!

This would be a much better product if they worked like they were supposed to
Ive had another brand before this brand. It was called NUT. They weren't built quite as heavy duty as these however, I have a really hard getting them to connect. I can be in the house and I get connection failed 3 or 4 times before it will actually connect. I did not have this problem with the NUT trackers. The NUT trackers are cheaper made. This would be a much better product if they worked like they were supposed to. If I really lose my keys, how do I know if they are really lost if the thing won't connect? Feeling frusterated over these.

Some problems
It paired up with the iPhone after two tries. I tested out the find function for the tag and that seem to work well. But when I tried to find my phone, that function did not work. I then unlocked the phone and tried again and this time it worked, but as soon as the phone went to sleep (locked), the device would not make the iPhone make any sound. How often do you misplace your phone and the device is unlocked? That is why it lost two stars.

Buy it now if you want to have just a piece of cheap plastic.
This is the worst device you could waste your money for.I bought this keyfinder so the phone would beep whenever I go far from my keys, however the device keeps disconnecting itseld from the phone all the time. What happens when the device is disconnected? It's no more a device but a piece of cheap plastic that wouldn't warn you if you dropped your keys or if you're looking for it.So, basically you need to go to the application every 10 minutes or so to "connect" all of your devices again.I bought 4 of these, and none of them are working neither on my Android or on my wife's iPhone!!!And.. they don't have any customer service.. when you click the "Help" button on their poor application you are given some silly instructions about how to connect the device or how to take a selfie.. nothing more.

Great Gift Idea!
Bought this for Advents Calender a couple Xmas’es ago. Giftee often misplaces Keys ans Wallett lol - so this was an awesome Gift idea. Had it attached to Keys and also was thin enough to carry in wallett spot. Works well.

I bought it bc I liked that I could change out the battery unlike Tile
bought this so my wife would never lose her keys again. Doesn't work. When we actually needed to use it, it wouldn't connect to her Android phone. I laughed bc I was able to connect to my keys with my iPhone. Now neither are able to connect. Furthermore, on occasion, the key fob will emit a alarm spontaneously without being touched or use of the app (I can't connect to it if I wanted to!). I bought it bc I liked that I could change out the battery unlike Tile. But in the end, I think the Tile might be better :(

which gets annoying.
This wallet tracker has helped my boyfriend out multiple times in the last month alone. The app that connects to the tracker works very well. The only downside of the tracker is that when he sits on his wallet, the tracker beeps, which gets annoying.

Interface poor. Bluetooth means it uses a lot of power
Bought as a gift, person doesn't use it. Interface poor. Bluetooth means it uses a lot of power. Not really an on-demand device. There basically aren't any good keyfinders except CUBE.
